Anime and success go hand in hand, but sometimes, anime and disappointment also co-exist. Studio Eclypse is out there to take away that problem. Some anime come out with so much hype that the fan-following already stands there in full dedication. Some manage to live up to the mark or even surpass it. Others, on the other hand, fail to do so, gradually descending into a downward spiral.

Mangas such as Tokyo Ghoul, Seven Deadly Sins, Record of Ragnarok, and many others have found their fates twisted with bad anime adaptations. Amongst them also stand two of the most controversial adaptations, Berserk and Attack on Titan. However, one studio alone has taken responsibility to at least try their level best into fixing the chaos created by these shows.

Ufotable’s Demon Slayer may have a lot of defining moments that make the anime series one of the best of all time, but a major part of the credit for the success of the series should ideally go to the voice actors of Demon Slayer, who managed to capture the emotions of intense characters like Tanjiro, Nezuko, Rengoku, Zenitsu, etc.
Nezuko and Tanjiro in Demon Slayer | Ufotable
Voicing such prominent characters can be difficult as they often end up in dire situations, and the entire focus is on them. Therefore, even a small mistake can affect the character and the voice actor’s image. Be it Japanese dubbing or any other language, the stress on the voice is similar for every voice artist who is working on the series.

Se7en never fails to find itself as one of the greatest thrillers ever made. The David Fincher movie starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman in the lead focuses on two cops trying to stop a serial killer, executing murders across the city according to the Biblical Seven Deadly Sins.
Brad Pitt as David Mills in 1995’s Se7en | New Line Cinema
From the plot to the performances and technical aspects, several aspects helped the film to be critically and commercially successful. However, one of the primary highlights of the film was its ending. Se7en‘s harrowing conclusion is still discussed heavily among pop culture enthusiasts.
Interestingly, Brad Pitt played a vital role in framing Se7en‘s ending. The Fight Club star ensured two non-negotiable conditions in his contract that did not let the makers change the ending midway.
How did Brad Pitt formulate the perfect ending for Se7en?...

David Fincher was in a characteristically misanthropic mood during a discursive Q&a with Steven Soderbergh Thursday night at Tribeca Festival. The directors have been pals since Soderbergh’s indie career launched more than three decades ago while Fincher became a Hollywood enfant terrible with “Alien 3.”
“I hate reality, but it just keeps seeping in,” Fincher told his friend, who moderated the conversation at Manhattan’s Spring Studios, while noting that he is a “regret-generating entity” who loves rehearsal but, he said, “I don’t enjoy shooting.” Later, when asked by an audience member for advice on how to get an independent film out in the world, Fincher deferred to Soderbergh and said, “I’m a slave. I’m essentially going to beg for an inordinately huge amount of money,” noting that the “Sex, Lies, and Videotape” wunderkind might be better suited to answering the question.

The superhero Shazam, formerly known by his beloved golden age name, Captain Marvel, became a fan favorite among readers right from the 40s, partially due to the charm the character brought and partially due to his unique origin. Although creators C.C. Beck and Bill Parker conceptualized the World’s Mightiest Mortal in 1940 with the recently debuted Man of Steel in mind, the departure from conventional superhero origins by making a teenager magically transformed into the all-powerful hero added distinctiveness. Later, as Captain Marvel, aka young Billy Batson, merrily shared his powers among hapless souls, the innovativeness kept adding on. Freddy Freeman and Mary Bromfield were the two major characters with whom the Captain shared his powers. The trio was known as Marvel Family and had their own titles, which became immensely popular.

This article contains nothing but Shazam! Fury of the Gods spoilers.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a big movie. It’s essentially a team movie, with not only Billy Batson, but his entire foster family bringing a total of six superheroes to the table (not to mention the presence of Djimon Hounsou’s Wizard). And they’re facing off with three villains, in the form of Helen Mirren as Hespera, Lucy Liu as Kalypso, and Rachel Zegler as Anthea. And then there are a menagerie of magical monsters that populate the film’s final act. And if all of that ain’t enough, there’s a massive DC cameo (which has been inexplicably spoiled in commercials for the film), plus some other fun deep cuts from throughout Shazam history.
So with all of this in mind, we sat down with director David F. Sandberg on the latest episode of...

The Shazamily is back and ready to fight evil. It's been several years since the last film, and we're just weeks away from the premiere of "Shazam! Fury of the Gods." The kids are growing up, but they're not adults quite yet -- well, not in their house, anyway. One word turns them into their adult counterparts, and they're off to keep crime down in Philadelphia. It's not going well, though, with reports from papers and TV news anchors being really unappreciative of their powers. Not fair! Especially after they save a whole lot of people (and kittens).
Now the Shazamily is facing a new threat in the form of goddesses, aka the Daughters of Atlas, who are looking for a dangerous artifact.
I recently spoke to adult cast members Ross Butler, Grace Caroline Currey (who plays both versions of Mary), Adam Brody, Meagan Good, and D.J. Cotrona about working with their kid counterparts,...

Seven Deadly Sins is a critically acclaimed anime known for its dynamic storytelling. For years, the anime fed viewers excellent animation from A-1 Pictures and an enrapturing plot with eccentric, proud, cute, and lovable characters. However, things changed when studio Deen took over for the third season; fans were instead served bad animation and terrible scales. Many were forced to stop watching the anime. Regardless, one thing that remained constant with this anime is the excellent storyline following the sins of wrath, pride, envy, greed, sloth, lust, and gluttony. So, if you didn’t get to finish the anime, or you

We’ve been waiting to see Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam for years. The film was first announced back in 2017 but a combination of the actor’s busy schedule and other Warner Bros. conflicts pushed it back further and further. This year, though, it felt like everything was finally coming together.
Johnson was showing off his bulging physique for the movie and the shoot was supposed to commence this summer. Due to Coronavirus though, that’s now been delayed, as Johnson may have to finish postponed Netflix film Red Notice before getting stuck into the Dceu. This means it’s more likely than not that Black Adam will miss its December 22nd, 2021 release date.
None of that is good news for fans of the character. But a small ray of light may come in the form of this leaked plot synopsis, which arrives courtesy of ‘EyoCaptain123’ on the DCEULeaks subreddit.

Donald Trump had such high hopes for Easter. So high, in fact, that when he burst forth on Fox News a couple of weeks ago with his idea of “re-opening” the country wide this coming Sunday, he gave it an exemplary rating of three “beautifuls”: “I just thought that it was a beautiful time … a beautiful timeline. It’s a beautiful day.”
You could close your eyes and easily imagine what the president was envisioning: At a time of his appointing, on Easter Sunday, shop doors would be flung...

Billy Batson rounds out the Shazam Family for his battle with Black Adam and the Deadly Sins.
Shazam is turning in one of my favorite villain team ups of all time. I can think of other rogues galleries that might make me lose my mind harder, but pound for pound, putting the Seven Deadly Sins, Dr. Sivana, Mr. Mind, and Black Adam on the same page is almost guaranteed to make me excited.
Dr. Sivana is pretty much my ideal mad scientist. He’s as arrogant as any other villain in comics, and when that’s done well, it’s perfection. If you peel away Sivana’s self regard, he can actually be a pretty capable villain, but his ridiculously high opinion of himself always gets in the way and leads to his defeat.
Black Adam is surprisingly one of my favorite characters in all of comics because of his versatility.

The Arrowverse shows have always dropped easter eggs and references to other parts of the DC universe, just to give fans a quick thrill. We usually know not to expect every single one to pay off later on, but with “Crisis on Infinite Earths” coming up, there’s a real possibility that a seemingly harmless namedrop could be setting something up for the big crossover. For instance, The Flash just referenced a major cornerstone of Shazam lore.

When DC Comics revived Captain Marvel in the 1970s, it was out of step with the audience and struggled to find success. Ever since, the publisher has been trying to find a formula to make the character and his world relevant to the readership. With Carol Danvers’ popularity as Captain Marvel ascendant, DC finally capitulated and began calling Billy Batson’s alter ego Shazam to keep the two from being confused.
With Captain Marvel out in March and Shazam out in April, there’s a good reason to rename the latter. (No one back in the day would ever have imagined either getting a big screen treatment or coming out so closely together.) Warner Home Entertainment has released Shazam in all the usual formats this week and it remains a fun, but not perfect film.

After the horror thrills of “Lights Out” and “Annabelle: Creation,” director David Sandberg and composer Benjamin Wallfisch shifted tone with the light-hearted adventure of “Shazam!,” the box office hit starring Zachary Levi as DC’s iconic child-man superhero.
“David and I started discussing the score several months before shooting began,” said Wallfisch (who has been busy lately scoring “Hellboy” and Nat Geo’s “Hostile Planet”), “and we just found ourselves geeking out over our shared love of the classic superhero and adventure/fantasy scores that were being written in the ’70s and ’80s, those huge thematic, orchestral scores that totally wore their heart on their sleeve and were unabashedly emotive and motivic.”
Naturally, Sandberg wanted to go with a “classic” sound for their score, since Shazam hails from the Golden Age of superhero comics in the ’40s. And, of course, they were all in for recording the score in London...

Warning: Big spoilers for the end of Shazam! below.
As any superhero film connoisseur knows, the strength of the story lives and dies by the strength of the villain - literally and metaphorically. Do they have Loki's sass? Kilgrave's obsessive manipulations? Kingpin's ruthlessness? In Shazam!, Mark Strong plays the film's big bad, Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, and is just as cruel as he is bald (very). But he's actually not the only antagonist that pops up over the course of Shazam! During a brief but ominous midcredits scene, an imprisoned Sivana is visited by another villainous presence from the comics: a superintelligent evil two-inch talking worm named Mister Mind.
After having lost a battle with Billy Batson's Shazam (played as an adult by Zachary Levi), Sivana is locked away in a prison somewhere. We see him, sapped of the powers the now-defeated Seven Deadly Sins imbued him with, frantically scribbling a...

Shazam! has officially exploded into theaters, and the charming, hilarious, and heartfelt superhero comedy is poised to be the Dceu's next big hit. But while much of the film is focused on the upbeat nonstop jokey banter between blossoming hero Billy Batson (aka the titular Shazam) and his foster brother, Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Glazer), there's also an undercurrent of villainy courtesy of Professional Villain actor Mark Strong. It's his twisted, one-eyed antagonist who occupies the movie's midcredits scene, setting up a potential sequel for Shazam!. So, what exactly goes down? Let's dive in.
Warning: Major spoilers for Shazam! below.
Strong plays wealthy scientist Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, whom we actually meet as a young boy at the very start of the film. He's one of the many people who are contacted by the Wizard Shazam (Djimon Hounsou) in hopes that he's "pure of heart" enough to take over the aging,...

I begin with a confession: this review is late. My review of Shazam! was supposed to run last Thursday, and then last Friday, and what actually happened is I tried and failed to write it so many times I just stepped away and took the weekend and tried to figure out what to say about this movie that I wanted to like so badly. The problem is, I didn't like it, and I didn't like it because I was baffled by it. And I was baffled by the fact that other people seemed to really love it. After the screening I went to, other members of the press gave comments like, "DC figured it out!" and, "The funniest superhero movie ever made!" (Which is definitely either Deadpool or Thor: Ragnarok).
So here is my honest opinion: Shazam! is a fun and funny feel-good action comedy, but I also thought it was a huge bummer.

(Spoiler alert: Do not read on if you haven’t seen “Shazam!”)
If you’ve seen “Shazam!” you know that one famous villain to the titular character is not in the movie, although fans had been hoping to catch a glimpse of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. But director David F. Sandberg says there was a reason for the exclusion.
“That’s something [the studio was] looking at in the past because they wanted to do a ‘Shazam!’ movie for quite some time,” Sandberg told TheWrap’s Beatrice Verhoeven. “I think they felt that for a first movie, you need to focus on Shazam and give him the space that he needs to really introduce him to new audiences.”
But if Sandberg were to direct a sequel, would he want Black Adam to be included in that one? Black Adam is best known in DC Comics as the main nemesis of superhero Shazam.

It's a rule that you need to stick around when the credits roll during superhero movies, not only to pay respects to the hardworking cast and crew, but also to catch any bonus scenes. Like its fellow Dceu films Justice League and Aquaman, Shazam! definitely follows this long-standing tradition. It delivers not one, but two post-credits scenes to reward those who sit in their seats patiently even after the feature.
Basically, the mid-credits scene is an important puzzle piece that strongly suggests the possibility of a sequel. On the other hand, the post-credits scene that follows it is just plain fun. Below, we'll break down what you need to know about the two post-credits scenes in Shazam! and briefly touch upon how they fit into the Dceu. Prepare for spoilers ahead!

Superheroes in the Springtime? Oh yes, they’re not the mainstay of Summer cinema any longer. Hey, a few even pop up in the Winter. Just about four weeks ago Marvel Studios released their super-powered, high-flying hero Captain Marvel to much praise and big box office bucks. So this new flick has a fairly familiar fella’ in red tights and white cape, guess he’s from the same producers. right? Nope, this powerhouse actually predates all the McU stars (even WWII’s Captain America). Oh, and he hails from Marvel’s long-standing rival, DC Comics. Technically though he’s an acquisition from a defunct comic book kingdom (a bit more on that later). And what’s the source of his astounding abilities? Born on a distant planet? Exposure to weird rays or energy blasts? A bite from an irradiated animal? None of the above, for his myriad of gifts come...

Sandberg is best known for horror films “Lights Out” and “Annabelle: Creation,” making him a bit of unlikely choice to helm the long-gestating superhero story “Shazam!” A PG-13 origin story about a wayward teenager who turns into a superhero by yelling out the film’s title, it’s the most feel-good feature in the dark history of the DC Extended Universe. But Sandberg turned his creepy bug into a feature: By rooting the film in the kind of terrifying and fun movies that he loved as a kid, he created something charming, fun, and with its own scares to spare.
It’s not the first time that the superhero universes has turned to horror movies for some unexpected levity. James Wan created the “Saw” franchise before he directed DC’s “Aquaman,” which didn’t achieve Taika Waititi levels of superhero whimsy but did give us Jason Momoa...

To this very day, I am able to recall the first time I laid my eyes upon “Onibaba”. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon, one of those Sundays where the comfort of your own home seemed too majestic to leave and all you want to do is laze around. I was in my bedroom, the air conditioner was on, and my back was rested against my bed. To complete the comfort, a snack was there for me to enjoy. It was heavenly.
In contrast, what took place on screen seemed to come out of the depths of horrific madness. We saw raging Susuki grasses all over the screen as the credits and the folk-like score, combination of jazz and taiko drums, played out. The camera showed a dark pit hidden amongst the grasses and then took us to its inside before climbing out,...

As a child I always dreamt of being able to say the magic words, turn into a superhero, and fly off to save the day. But that feeling of ‘anything is possible’ gets lost in a lot of us as we grow up. Director David F. Sandberg’s Shazam taps into those childlike dreams and makes for a delightfully fun return to being a kid. A lighthearted addition to the roster of Dceu films, in a world of violence and darkness Shazam is a refreshing contrast. There were several brilliant moments where superhero tropes were turned on their heads to create laugh out loud reactions from the audience.
It was clear from the start that the Director Sandberg and Producer Peter Safran had decided to go with an ’80s vibe and even though the film is set in the modern day. Tthere’s a ‘Goonies’ or ‘Big’ feel to the...

If the “Wonder Woman” and “Aquaman” movies represented DC Comics’ first big-screen steps away from the austere color palette of the Zach Snyder movies, “Shazam!” takes us deeply into primary colors in a single bound. There’s still a touch of urban decay and kitchen-table warmth on display — this is by no means Warren Beatty’s “Dick Tracy” or a candy-colored Cartoon Network production — but this new DC entry has a lovely lightness, both in the visuals and in its tone.
Before the 1940s serials and the 1970s Saturday-morning TV show, “Shazam!” was born in a magazine called Whiz Comics, published by Fawcett and later acquired by the company that would be known as DC Comics. And to use a 1940s expression, there’s a gee-whiz ebullience to the movie that makes it stand out among the last several decades’ worth of caped crusaders.
