Chief Nelson (Jay C. Flippen) is returning from shore with some of his fellow crewmen after losing their money in a poker game. While in transit on a small boat, Seaman Claude White (Robert Sorrells) spots a bottle in the sea. The very old bottle has a piece of rolled parchment paper in a coded foreign language with a map. The men are excited to have discovered a treasure map and take it to Ensign O'Toole (Dean Jones). O'Toole also feels it is a treasure map of the bay they are anchored and sees "1666" and relates it to the year Henry Morgan led the Barbados pirates against Spanish treasure ships. He struggles to break the code and needs more time before the ship departs. Lt. St. John (Jack Mullaney) is just returning from being ill in the hospital and O'Toole heads a comical "gaslight" treatment to make him think he's very ill again. With shovels in hand the men go digging ashore. This is a funny episode with a funny ending.
