Angelina Jolie had a glamorous Friday night.
The 42-year-old actress could not have looked more elegant while stepping out for the 2017 U.N. Correspondents Association Awards at Cipriani Wall Street restaurant in New York City, where she was honored as the 2017 Unca Global Citizen of the Year.
Jolie stunned as she exited the event in a strapless black-and-white gown, accessorizing her look with striking black gloves -- but she wasn't alone. The mother of six brought several of her children along; 14-year-old Pax, 12-year-old Zahara, 11-year-old Shiloh and 9-year-old Knox were also seen all dressed up alongside their mother. 16-year-old Maddox and 9-year-old Vivienne, meanwhile, appeared to stay home.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt may no longer be together, but prior to filing for divorce, Angelina thought that working with Brad on another movie would solve their relationship problems. "We had met working together and we worked together well," Angelina recently told The Hollywood Reporter's podcast, Awards Chatter, about working with Brad on 2015's By the Sea. "I wanted us to do some serious work together. I thought it would be a good way for us to communicate. In some ways it was, and in some ways we learned some things. But there was a heaviness probably during that situation that carried on, and it wasn't because of the film." By the Sea was written and directed by Angelina and is about a couple who deals with serious marital issues after being married for 14 years. Angelina added that the film may have been partially based on the issues she...

Angelina Jolie admits there was some “heaviness” between her and then-husband Brad Pitt while shooting 2015’s By the Sea.
The couple famously worked on the relationship drama shortly after their wedding, marking their first project together since meeting on 2005’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith. In a new interview, the Oscar winner, 42, admits that she made their second project together as a means to “communicate” with Pitt.

Angelina Jolie is reflecting on her final movie with Brad Pitt.
The 42-year-old actress recently appeared on The Hollywood Reporter's podcast Awards Chatter, where she candidly discussed why she wanted to work with Pitt on their critically panned 2015 film, By the Sea. Jolie says she believed at the time that the film would improve their marriage.

Astros catcher Evan Gattis’ path to World Series champion was paved with pain — including battles with homelessness, suicidal thoughts and substance abuse.
But in the end, it was all worth it.
“It’s what you dream about as a kid, you come this far, let’s just win the thing,” Gattis recently enthused to ABC13 as the Houston Astros advanced to this year’s World Series before ultimately going on to win baseball’s biggest championship.
At one point considered one of the top catchers in high school baseball, the Astros’ designated hitter long seemed destined for the major leagues.

Sometimes a kid just knows it’s going to take more to get permission to keep a new pet than merely saying, “Mom, it followed me home. Can I keep it?” Case in point: Stranger Things’ Dustin, who in Season 2’s “Chapter Three: The Pollywog” wisely snuck past his mom the kinda cute, kinda gross tadpole-y creature that he’d discovered in a trash can at the end of “Chapter Two.”

Trust in Richard Linklater. Like any great filmmaker, no matter what story he decides to tell, or whatever film he wants to make, it'll almost always be good. I will full well admit that I had low expectations for this film before going in to see it, I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe I just didn't want to see another film about American soldiers (there have been so many recently), or veterans complaining about how things are, or the American flag. Whatever it was, I was wrong. Linklater's Last Flag Flying is an impressively level-headed, intelligent film with some nice, heartwarming conversations amongst good friends. It's a buddy film about three aging veterans who go on a roadtrip around America, reminiscing about their pasts and catching up. Last Flag Flying introduces us first to Larry 'Doc' Shepherd, played by Steve Carell, who decides to go find his old marine friends...

In the chaos that ensued Sunday night when a gunman began firing from above into a crowd at a Las Vegas concert, people frantically searching for cover found themselves surrounded by carnage amidst the deadliest mass shooting by a single gunman in United States history.

To be honest, I no longer remember what Jane Foster did to make S.H.I.E.L.D. agents go all the way to Asgardia to look for her back in The Mighty Thor vol 2 # 9. But, to be honest, it probably no longer matters.
Whatever it was that Jane had done might to attract S.H.I.E.L.D.’s attention have been undone, when Kobik , those fragments of a Cosmic Cube that had coalesced into a little girl, changed the back story of the entire Marvel Universe to make Captain America an agent of Hydra. So it’s possible that whatever Jane had done, she didn’t do anymore.
Moreover, the people that were interested in Jane Foster were agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But we’re talking about agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. under the old regime. You know, back when S.

Alright, so yesterday night, September 18,2017,the final three Big Brother season 19 houseguests Christmas, Paul and Josh got a bit of a scare in the very late hours of the night while they were busy playing poker or some game with the cards. They were also drinking beer and joking. The joking would stop at around 11:21 pm pacific time when all of a sudden the house started shaking! Christmas' face immediately went from laughing and smiling to frowning and her eyes went wide. Paul immediately told them it's an earthquake. Paul said, "It's an earthquake! Put your cards down. Walk outside. Come on." Christmas said, "Holy cow!" While they were in the backyard, Paul said, "Wait." Josh said, "What the f@#ck. The whole house moved." Paul said, "That's what an earthquake is." Josh said, "I never experienced that in my life." Paul said, "This whole season I've been saying this is earthquake weather.

Alright, so the Power Of Veto competition took place for week 4 yesterday evening July 22,2017. The reigning Hoh Jessica along with Cody, Christmas and Jason competed in the comp. The current eviction nominees are Josh and Ramses so they also competed. We don’t have the intel about what type of comp this was. Whatever it was, it totally favored Jessica because she emerged the victor. As you can see from the pic (above), we learned of this information by seeing Jessica smiling in bliss over her Pov medallion. I have to admit this girl is on fire this week. First, she won the Hoh. Now, she’s a Pov winner. What the hell? If that weren’t enough, she also has the power to stop any eviction for the next three weeks. However, we don’t think she’ll be stopping this one. She will be able to keep her nominations the same.

It's fair to say that one of the first reality shows we truly adored was MTV's Newlyweds featuring Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. Perhaps it was because we listened to their music, longed for Simpson's platinum blonde hair or crushed on 98 Degrees, or maybe it was because they really did seem like the perfect couple at the time. Whatever it was, it worked. However, when they filed for divorce after the third season hit the air, we couldn't help but wonder whether it was all for show. Now, Sue Kolinksy—a producer who worked on the series all three seasons—has dished the behind-the-scenes secrets to Complex, answering some questions we've been asking...

There are tons of lines in movies that we love that were 100% intended for us to love. The writers of the movie knew exactly what they were doing when they inserted said line into the script. But there are other lines in movies that are simply regular lines that become amazing because of the way an actor said them. It could have been an expression on their face or it could have simply been the actual tone of voice they used. Whatever it was, you tend to remember these lines and joke about them with your friends. I decided

The Fast and Furious franchise is a damn interesting one to look at. Who’d’ve thought way back in 2001 that a little film about underground street racing would end up as one of the most profitable action franchises of all time? It was something that could not have been foreseen, and it’s been rewarding to see a series like this pivot from one thing to another when it realized certain aspects of its formula were working. Now, each film seems to have about as many explosions as your average Transformers flick. And it’s awesome.
Before I get started, I think it’s worth mentioning that, like many folks, I grew up watching these movies, from its lowly beginnings to its current iteration. I hated Tokyo Drift, and I was surprised to see its resurgence in Fast and Furious, the fourth film in the franchise. Fast Five was high point for the series,...

With the way last week’s Legion ended, there was a feeling that this finale couldn’t live up to what we’d already seen. Thankfully, we can trust Legion to deliver where it matters, and that includes a hint of what is to come in season 2.
With Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) now restrained within David’s (Dan Stevens) head, the next big problem is the return of Division 3 and Clark (Hamish Linklater), the interrogator from the first episode. Hardly in a position of power, will he be forced to work with David to handle the danger held within his mind?

Things were heating up with what's left of the resistance; we were given a sneak peek into the boxes shipping to the Global Authority and learned Nolan doesn't know that much about The Greatest Day.
I'm sorry I missed an episode, but illness overtook me, and I wasn't even moving. Sadly, it was the one in which we lost Thora Birch as Morgan and had her replaced with Bethany Joy Lenz. What a joy, indeed!
Lenz gives the character some much-needed oomph, and the trio finally feels like a reasonable group for Broussard to be leaning on for his technical support.

Had he overslept? Was he lost? Did he decide that this no-paying, bottom-budget web series was not worth the effort? Whatever it was, I needed to know.
The Crown Heights Airbnb I booked was on the third floor, and I couldn’t get a good view of the front of the building, so I went downstairs to see if he was waiting on the stoop with a dead phone, not knowing which apartment number to buzz.

Last night, Hollywood lost one of its most prolific filmmakers, Garry Marshall, who passed away at the age of eighty-one.
Marshall was known for his sentimental films that focused on love and friendship in a magical and optimistic way that was unique to his sensibilities. While he had a huge impact on television, as the creator of “Happy Days” and all of its spin-offs, he also offered the film world some of our best romantic comedies and stories of platonic love, from Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries, to Beaches and Raising Helen.
Marshall’s joy for life was evident through his storytelling, which had quite the impact on us growing up, and up until this day. At the age of eighty, Marshall was still working hard behind the camera, as...

There are times where I don't want to write about a film because I know for a fact that publishing my review is going to end up making people I like angry at me, and this is one of those times. But even months after seeing it, I find myself struggling to make sense out of the film Raiders! The Story Of The Greatest Fan Film Ever Made and the enthusiasm people have for it. I think the film is revealing, certainly, but I wouldn't say I enjoyed it. I also wouldn't call it a celebration of anything. Whether they realize it or not, Jeremy Coon and Tim Skousen have given us one of the most searing, ugly portraits of artistic hubris since Overnight. I spent a good portion of my screening at the Drafthouse feeling sick to my stomach, tied in knots by what I was watching instead of elated or moved,...

Castle has ended for good with a season 8 finale that doesn't do justice to the strength of this show's actors, or its fans' love...
This review contains spoilers.
8.22 Crossfire
I’ve tried. I’ve tried really hard. I’ve watched and rewatched, and there’s only one conclusion: Crossfire is downright insulting to the Castle audience.
As I suggested last week, I’m not exactly surprised by this. The series finale doesn’t just conclude the show, but brings to end one of the most excruciating seasons ever of a show that I otherwise liked. It’s not that I haven’t always had my problems with Castle. I have. But I’ve been a fan of Nathan’s since his short stint on Buffy, where he played, the Gentlemen from Hush aside, the only truly frightening villain the show ever had. And so I’ve followed him,...

There are probably people in the gaming world that don’t understand the importance of Doom and the way it changed the face of shooting games. Sure, Wolfenstein 3D may have been the first, but it was merely a prototype of what was to come. With this in mind, does the new Doom live up to the legacy that precedes it?
In many ways the original Doom caught the attention of fans like me perfectly. Using the Shareware model for release, a good chunk of levels were released on the gamer with a promise of more if you paid up for it. For a lot of people of course, they may have stuck to the original levels but even those wanted more.
For some it was the good use of addicted gameplay and mix of horror, for others it was the adrenaline pumping music. Whatever it was that hooked you,...

Kerry Washington isn't going to change her appearance to meet Hollywood's unrealistic standards.
The Scandal star sat down with Oprah Winfrey for the lifestyle guru's Super Soul Session Sunday, and Washington talked about how tough it was to land a role before getting her hit show.
"In the beginning of my career I was often told to fix things like fix your teeth, wear your hair differently or dress differently or I was too ethnic or I didn't speak black enough ... Whatever it was," Washington, 39, told Winfrey. "These were the reasons why I wasn't making it in the beginning of my career.

We all have one: a film or scene that we shouldn’t have watched until we were old enough to deal with it. What was yours?
It might have been a horror scene. It might have been a sex scene. It might have been misconstrued slapstick or satire you weren’t ready for.
Whatever it was, if you watched it too early it’s likely that it left you with a deep-seeded phobia – of planes, of drains, of puppets, of milk – or a new understanding of the world that you wish you didn’t know.

Some of WrestleMania’s greatest bouts have also been some of WWE’s bloodiest encounters. There’s an art to the violence, with a new level of drama being uncovered when a wrestler is washed in the red stuff. Done appropriately, it works wonders in getting the intensity and meaning of a match over to the audience.
Of course, since WWE went PG in 2008, blood has been banned. There were multiple reasons, mainly Linda McMahon’s senate campaign and WWE’s bid to be family/advertiser friendly. There was also a big health factor to consider, because it isn’t exactly medically advisable to run a razor blade over the forehead.
Blood loss and risk of infection were always a real danger when it came to blading.
But despite the valid arguments against blood, would any of the following ‘Mania classics have really been the same without the presence of plasma?...

Hillary Clinton's opinion of Martin Shkreli is one that probably everyone can agree on - regardless of political party. The democratic presidential candidate brought up Shkreli, the biotech entrepreneur currently charged for securities and wire fraud, while discussing big pharma with an audience in Reno, Nevada. "Honest to goodness, he is the personification of the worst blind date that anybody in this audience has ever had," the 68-year-old joked with supporters. Just last year - before his arrest - Shkreli raised a life-saving drug's price by 5,000 percent. The 32-year-old's December seven-count indictment alleges that he and others carried out...

As a kid growing up I was a huge horror fan, I loved reading scary novels – mainly ones I really shouldn’t have been allowed to like Graham Masterton’s Family Portrait; watching the late-night BBC double-bills or renting all the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street films from the local video shop even though I wasn’t over 18; or watching Are You Afraid of the Dark? on terrestrial TV – where it suffered censorship and missing episodes – I adored horror and still do. But one thing I never got into was Goosebumps. Maybe it was because the books came too late for me – as I said I was already reading adult horror fiction...
