Love it, but the anachronisms...

Warning: Spoilers
The dress box used to transfer Lady Whistledown's writings with the Modiste and the printer is covered in William Morris' "Willow" pattern from 1874. He wasn't even born until 1834, ~20 years after this episode takes place.

Fun and engaging episode

I AM SO GLAD THEY DIDN'T MAKE ELOISE INTO A "I'M NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS" TYPE AND NOW SHE CAN BREATH AS A REAL FEMINIST. I hope they don't force a 'romance' between her and that self-involved guy. I truly hope that Eloise's uninterest in marriage will be respected in later episodes and seasons. Although, the way this show has been regarding romance I am indeed ñot hopeful.

The sexual tension is really ramping up in this episode. In general, the emotional stakes for my favourite characters, be it the protagonists or not, are flourishing.

Absolutely adore the way the plotline with Lord Featherington is involving. It's both sad and weirdly hilarious.

I respect Daphne's involvement in these affairs.

Outstanding

Some of the best acting I've seen in a very long time. So much chemistry between Baily and Ashley. No stilted awakward moments. So rare amonsgt even highly rated programs nowadays. Ranks up there with P&P 1995 which I would never have thought could happen.

Daphne Bridgerton Basset (Phoebe Dynevor), Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie), Kathani "Kate" Sharma Bridgerton (Simone Ashley), and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan)

Warning: Spoilers
Favorite scene with

Daphne Bridgerton Basset (Phoebe Dynevor) - Her Talk with Anthony after she walks in on him and Kate almost Kissing.

Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) - Very Upset with a Suitor and her Mother after being Forced to Dance with Him, and Hurrying Off to her Room.

Kathani "Kate" Sharma Bridgerton (Simone Ashley) - Unable to Sleep, and Going to the Library. Anthony also Unable to Sleep, and Going to the Library. Discussing Books, Bees, and the Storm. BTW, I had put her Full Name as Katharine in Previous Posts. It's Actually Kathani.

Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) - She and Prudence Discussing Lady Whistledown.

Why must shows deviate so much from the book
austenpride21 February 2023
The country visit held so many possibilities, and yet the screenwriters failed to take advantage of the two most dramatic moments from the book??

The garden scene with the bee was so tame and lackluster when compared to what the author wrote..... And the thunderstorm scene ugh. It was such a dramatic scene that brought the characters more understanding of each other and emotion. They totally dropped the ball.

And Edwina never had an emotional investment in Anthony in the books, and yet they have her pursuing him like crazy and getting engaged. It doesn't make for better viewing, it just frustrates those of us who loved the books. I expect changes of course when a book is adapted to a show, not it's sad to see them fail to take advantage of such potential.

That didn't go as planned

For all the scheming in this world things never quite go to plan do they. Decent acting though honestly the storyline is too expected. It was all going well until you realize its only episode four and more drama will be required to make it to the end of the season.

Not the show i was expecting
bearm-1744327 March 2022
I was waiting for this season to come out and was excited to binge it over the weekend, but unfortunately this is not the show I was addicted to last time.

This season is quite boring to be honest with the narrative obvious from episode one with who will end up together... bummer to see such a good show failing to deliver..

Kate Sharks - the Mary Sue
fh_32 April 2022
Is there nothing she can't do well? She is an expert hunter of English game even though she has been away from England for years. She is an expert equestrian, matchmaker, socialite, and croquet player. Give her a lightsaber and call her Rey.
