I consider myself to have a fairly high movie standard. This movie totally blew me away and became my all time favorite. I love independent and foreign films and this fits both.
The film is nearly perfect besides some of the production values. Although the very beginning is very powerful, you see that this is not an normal Hollywood production. Please do not get discouraged. The rest of the film is great production wise. Just watch 30 minutes and you'll be hooked.

By the end you feel like you are really there, in the Marshall Islands with the characters. You feel with them. The acting is also excellent. Keep in mind, this was all done for a few hundred dollars and all the actors worked for free. The acting is raw and real. James Bing is outstanding. The script and plot were expertly done. Everything is logical and believable; it simply flows wonderfully. Lastly, the soundtrack is truly amazing. Many films especially foreign ones forget to use music accordingly. Not this movie, it is incorporated regularly and appropriately. The soundtrack only adds to an already incredible movie.
Watch this movie and you will be hooked. Its grabs you in within ten minutes and doesn't let you go until the very end. You feel like you are actually there, like one of the characters themselves. The ending is gripping and passionate. It's hard not to cry towards the end. For someone who has seen so many incredible movies, I can say without a doubt that this film is the best I have ever seen. It's a must see.
