The troubled family spend a holiday together at Fontainebleau, Provence is delighted at the thought of receiving his new bride, less so when she arrives.
Another pretty terrific episode, this series is truly a captivating watch. In this third segment, there is the usual plotting and scheming, and a new alliance seems to have been formed.
Everyone seems to be acting for their own ends, quite literally, but the pact at the end, that surely will be a game changer.
Gaia Weiss continues to dazzle as Mme DuBarry, she has truly been so charismatic, I felt here though that many others came to the fore, James Purefoy was phenomenal, we really did get to see The King's metal, a very different, and ruthless side to him.
Addictive viewing.
9/10.
