- Ellie injects penicillin into Joel's wound. His injury is clearly seen infected, swollen and bruising.
- Two animals are killed this episode. One being a deer Ellie hunts, which is seen dead with blood around it. One is a horse shot to prevent somebody from escaping, though this is shown from a distance.
- There is an intense scene where Joel jumps somebody and stabs the man in the neck. We do see him dying painfully and slowly. Blood drains from his nose and mouth as he dies.
- There is a torture interrogation scene in which Joel has two men tied up. He is beating one and ultimately stabs him in the knee, threatening to do worse. Once the man confesses what he knows, Joel stabs him in the chest. He then murders the other man with a lead pipe, offscreen.
- Three human bodies are shown hanging upside down and headless, clearly being saved to be used for food.
- Two men roughly handle Ellie in the episode. She struggles, kicks, and bites to escape them.
- Ellie breaks a man's fingers, and he subsequently smashes her face into the bars of a jail cell, leaving her face bloody.
- A man takes a meat cleaver to the neck, blood pours from his neck and covers his shirt.
- The most violent and brutal episode.

- Naked corpses are seen briefly hanging from their feet. Far more disturbing than sexual.
- The main villain in this episode David is implied to be a pedophile will be disturbing to some because he has a background of being a teacher, near the end of the episode he actually gets on top of Ellie and they are implying he tries to rape her but nothing goes too far as Ellie starts brutally killing him.
- During the ending of the episode, the main antagonist pins Ellie down and directly implies he intends to sexually assault her.
Violence & Gore
- Ellie stabs a man in the neck with a cleaver, with tons of blood pouring out. A man then takes this cleaver out, which causes even more blood to pour out.
- A group of headless corpses are shown hanging by the feet. They are clearly old and partially decomposed, with some having old wounds on them. This is brief but very disutrbing.
- Ellie stabs a man in the stomach. She then stabs him with a cleaver, which is shown very briefly, and she continuously hacks him 20 or so times. The hacking is offscreen, but blood sprays onto Ellie and the camera. The corpse is not shown.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- It is revealed that the meat eaten by a community is actually human meat, and headless corpses are also shown at one point. This is incredibly disturbing.
- The final encounter between Ellie and David is incredibly disturbing, with Ellie shrieking and crying for her life, and David showing psychopathic behavior. She repeatedly stabs him while still shrieking, making for one of the most disturbing moments of the show yet.
