A quality end to series 2.

Jasper is called upon when the body of a man is found in the boot of a car.

Easily the best episode of the series, and arguably the show's best episode to date. I thought this was a really great episode, personally I really liked the conclusion, it perhaps didn't play out as I'd expected, but very dramatic, the episode as a whole was excellent.

I've been somewhat critical of the show in the past when it's been a little on the silly side, a few moments just didn't work for me, this one however was like a straight up thriller, no nonsense, well paced, intriguing, it didn't let up for one moment. It was almost as if it was produced by a different team.

I loved the way that all of the threads and strands from this series came together, this was by far and away the most accomplished episode.

Please let there be a third series.

9/10.

Jumped the shark in the last few minutes

Warning: Spoilers
Warning spoilers. Intriguing plot with good twists let down by the last few minutes, Brand suddenly producing a pistol, how? There's no private ownership of pistols and police firearms are the province of the armed response teams if you want CID able to do a "sweeney" you need to set the show in the 70's. Then Professor T in a cell? Charge him with anything and the sorry tale of senior officer goes postal on cheating boyfriend with a stolen glock comes out, and as for Donckers, given her telling Brand what had happened, having been told by a senior officer not to do so, created the situation, she would be lucky to hang onto a job as police constable, I appreciate this is a remake but "it's just a story" should not be grounds for getting the basic's wrong.

Warning: Spoilers
Professor T the series tends to be as smug and self satisfied as its lead character.

The final episode of the second series has to tie up some of the story arcs.

The focus is on Dan Winters who has been doing some extracurricular activities with private security work.

It is just that the work has him being involved with some dodgy people. His girlfriend Lisa Donckers is unaware of this and she has beaten him for promotion.

Winters and Donckers revisit some of the people they have come across this second series when the body of an undercover cop is discovered.

The dead man had gone deep cover to infiltrate a drugs gang. He also seemed to have fallen for a nightclub dancer, something his wife was not aware of.

There is also a suspicion that some dirty cops might have give the dead man's identity away.

Of course it is likely that the gangsters he had infiltrated would had killed him. Professor T felt that it might be someone close to home.

A solid ending although I could not buy an ending where Professor T ends up in a police cell.

ending is laughable

What a weak and soapy series it is. This was the first episode which was actually watchable except of course for the mother subplot which makes me gag every time and the soapy love stories which dont belong in a crime story.

Totally bland main character lacking the meerest hint of charisma. Why would anybody watch this drivel?

Try a rerun of poirot instead or the mentalist for gods sake.

If writers get away with such badly researched series, bad actors and superficial showvalues it is no wonder the general quality of tv series went down the drain quite some time ago.

The last top crime show i remember was sherlock. 😥

The best of episodes, the worst of episodes.

Warning: Spoilers
A well-acted and well- written story is ruined by what is at best described as a weak ending, and more frankly is simply terrible. Skip the last two minutes.

We leave with the idiotic and improbable--no, just absolutely unbelievable ending of the Professor under arrest for what? Saving the life of a police officer? I'm mortified by the stupidity story writers can exhibit on occasion. Perhaps this was caused by the AI which really wrote the story going randomly off message. And Brand can't even thank him for what he did? Perhaps, but it seems very much contrary to her previous character. And Simon's fate needs to be made clearer. If this is an attempt at a cliffhanger, it is an even weaker story. I can't believe anyone really cares about the weird sub-plot involving T's mother.
