A nice, tense, tightly focused episode.Sandra's situation seems to become ever more desperate as, cleverly, her attempt to get hold of the key fails and her long shot at contacting Steven by walkie talkie just fails to succeed.Surprisingly her situation is resolved by the halfway mark but that only leads into an even more dangerous scenario in the second half.
Barnett puts in a pretty poor performance as a police officer, losing his gun and getting taken hostage by a nobody, although he does almost talk Barlow into giving up.A rare moment of humour is introduced with Tom, Frank and Neville's delighted reactions to the news Steven punched Barlow.The closing scene, with Tom standing up to Barlow after finally getting tired of his self-justifying rants and Kerry refusing to give in to his bullying at last, is a triumphant moment...but then there's a nasty sting in the tail.
