A beautiful aspect of Strictly is that universal sense of wishing others well that exists at the heart of the show. I'm not a musical fan, so this week wasn't my favourite, but that doesn't stop me admiring AJ's enchanting waltz (she's my favourite) or Reece's energetic jive.

Week 9: Musicals Special
studioAT21 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Let's face it, Cynthia Erivo, as many a guest judge in the past have found, was on a hiding to nothing.
Be too generous (as she was) and people moan, come in and be too stingy and people would moan.
I can't say she did a lot for me, but then again she wasn't auditioning for the job full time. She sat, gave out scores ranging from 7-10 that were largely consistent with the other judges - job done.
I liked Dan's routine, I wasn't fond of Rose's for once. But what do I know? The viewers will speak, and someone will be going home later. Oh sorry, last night. Let's not pretend it's not all filmed on Saturday.
