All of the insinuations in other reviews that you're stupid for not getting the "genius" of this last series are utterly delusional it wasn't a particularly hard concept to grasp and it wasn't amazingly intelligent or fresh or any other superlative you want to throw at this garbage.
The first 3 series was 10/10, as a fan of horror I was ok with 4 but it was a distinct quality drop off in terms of writing but I could give it a passable 6.5/10 if the series ended where it should've with Dory dead then it was a 9/10 show without doubt, this series is so bad that I'd advice people to skip it and I can't think of another show I'd say that about, if you stop watching and miss the last minute in season 4 and end it there you'll love this show, if you continue you'll grow to hate the characters, world and show as a whole.
I get what they were trying to do but it was just executed really badly, the characters lost all of their odd ties, logic had died, the cleverness in the writing had disappeared and been replaced with senseless nonsense and 3 main characters who lost all their personalities.
I'll say this here, the saving grace was Elliot, Mark and Chantal in this season, they were the only three to add any humour and their daft mini stories were the only humours and engaging ones. So they escape much of the criticism.
I loved Portia untill this show, yes we know she's s little dim and flakey but she went from who she was to, getting with drew, saying it was dory all along and becoming gay -one scene drinking her bath water, it was such a ridiculous departure and same for drew, the believability in his decision making was not there.
Lastly dory and the story, the story is ripped off many other shows and films, it's poorly done but does nightlight one key issue of making the wrong people famous and giving them power, you don't know who 99% of celebrities or influencers are yet you'll do anything or buy anything they tell you, it does feel only a matter of time before it goes to far and we have imbeciles leading many revolutions and new age religions and the world crumbles .
How people are and how generations are devolving yet pretending to be better this worlds only getting worse, it's why I have zero interest in preserving it except for the animals.
This show was ruined and I'd put this season up for worst I've ever seen, a saying you can say about each new generation of person, less social skills, no interest in working , entitlement, it's a sad state to see who kids let influence them.
