Good series, bad Spanish (again)
climaxsonico4 May 2015
There was this scene, where two Peruvians talk (in Spanish): "quizá se le cambió la mente". This is nonsense in Spanish, as it is literal translation for "maybe he changed his mind".

That's obviously wrongly translated ("quizá cambió de idea" is better, as any junior high English student here knows).

That can only reflect a) lack of ANY respect for foreign followers, b) lack of respect for Spanish language (is not like they couldn't find anyone who could have helped, right?) and c) amazing cowardliness from the actors playing the Peruvians who were given that clearly stupid line to say (you can tell by their accent they're native Spanish speakers).

Sad things you can tell from one single, stupid line. Gringos

The Illegal Fight and the Boyfriend's Secret
claudio_carvalho23 January 2024
Cal Lightman is in an illegal underground fight organized by Ron Marshall, where the Peruvian fighters Raul Campos and Orlando are disputing a fight. Raul wins the fight and Cal walks with him and asks his car keys, offering to drive him home. He scratches Cal and tells him that he will go by bus, refusing the offer of a ride from Cal. A man witnesses their argument. However, Raul has no money to pay the fare and when he returns to his car, he is shot and killed. The FBI is investigating Raul's death and Bernard Dillon is in charge of Ben and The Lightman Group. Soon Cal sees that he is in trouble, since he is involved in the illegal fights and has evidence that puts him at the crime scene. Marshall believes Orlando is the killer and has kidnapped and is torturing him. Meanwhile, Dr. Foster suspects that her boyfriend, Dr. Burns, may be a drug dealer.

"Headlock" is a funny episode of "Lie to Me", where Cal Lightman is in trouble due to the death of an illegal underground fighter. The havoc created by Cal with his erratic behavior, compromising his friends, is amazing. In the end, he resolves the crime, but his methods are too unconventional. Dr. Foster learns the secret about her new boyfriend. My vote is seven.

This series is wearing thin Warning: Spoilers
Im finding the more I watch the less convincing the premise is and more and more inconsistencies pile up. Found it very annoying how they made it so easy for Lightman to get around an FBI investigation and avoid being questioned as the prime suspect. The scene where Loker notices a clip missing and then Torres conveniently comes up with a bogus story to get Loker away from the video. Knowing Lokers character, he would have wanted to first find the deleted clip and see what it was, as it could have been something pertinent to the case, before just moving on to something else. Also, after all he has learned about detecting lies, wouldnt he see through Torres even a little bit? Suspect something?

Also How the Agent conducting the investigation is so aloof and doesn't realize anything thats going on with Lightman missing, then after finding out, he easily goes along with Lightmans plan......come on!.....I just got really annoyed with this episode. If it wasn't for me being such a huge fan of The Practice and Kelli Williams, I would have stopped watching this show half way during Delinquent episode.
