One of the best crime docs I have seen.

Honestly astounded and blown away with this doc.

I knew some of the deets going in but The Real Cops & Robbers presents the facts from both sides whilst adding before unknown information.

The films best asset is the cast of people they gathered to retell the story. From the boss of the operation to the man sent to catch him. Everyone has something to add and the film lets them speak freely.

The cinematography was clean and I really liked the settings picked for the interviews. It all added to a professional flow and made the information easy to follow.

Pleased to have revisited this story in such a thoughtful way.

The most authentic and real east end doc in years

Most docs shy away from telling both sides of the event.

Most docs do not have people as close to the event to tell the story.

Most crime docs tell you what to think.

The Real Cops & Robbers stands in opposition to that by presenting the story from both sides. Taking accounts from people close to the events and letting people formulate their own opinion.

If you heard about or thought you knew the story this really is must watch.

Will be keeping an eye out for what the director does next.

TLDR: Good crime doc focusing on both sides without forcing a predetermined narrative.

Great stuff 10/10.

Best crime doc I have seen recently.

Most crime docs are biased lopsided and pushing the story of the state.

The Real Cops & Robbers does no such thing.

Neither does it glorify or push the side of the perpetrators. Just an honest to god look at both sides and the back and forth that went on around this case.

I will try to avoid spoilers but I remember the event well as I lived near that ASDA.

Everyone talks about it now to this day so it was nice to get some clarity and closure on what happened.

Thanks to the director and participants for telling the story in a way that reflects the gray messy reality of life.

I would highly advise a watch.

Gripping documentary

Loved the way this true crime documentary was made. Coming from the local area where it was set I enjoyed the history, the details of the places where events took place and especially loved the way the characters told their stories.

Hearing from both sides regarding the sequence of events was so interesting and gripping. It made you feel the jeopardy on one side and the frustration from the other.

I don't often watch this type of documentary but would highly recommend to anyone.

Very well filmed, interviews captivating, reconstructions believable and realistic.

The coming together of the main characters at the end was genius!

Brilliantly Executed

This was a fantastic True Crime Documentary, the production was amazing and well put together, being able to get the original members to agree to tell their side could not have been easy to do. I commemorate all those invloved in getting this masterpiece made.

After watching this documentary I definitely had a view on both parties involved and the mindset they had at that time, you could definitely see that alot of effort had been made to make that the story was told correctly and truthfully.

I am more than happy to recommend this documentary to friends and family, absolute blinder, cant wait to see what comes next.

A brilliant true crime doc

This captivating film tells the story of a crime from both sides. It reveals a depth of storytelling that does not often appear it many 'true crime' docs. It is beautifully shot and deftly constructed, giving the viewer a powerful insight into this specific crime and its investigation.

The film's strength is in its simplicity. It has gained access to an extraordinary range of characters who clearly trust the filmmakers enough to freely open up.

Most films in this genre tend to hide very thin stories behind lavishly over produced assaults on our senses, The Real Cops & Robbers, on the other hand, is pure storytelling at its best.

I shopped at that ASDA

If you lived near, you went to that asda often. It was the local supermarket for a large area.

So obviously when this story broke rumors and gossip were abound. Chat outside the playground, at the office in that very ASDA was nothing but this story for months. Most of it misinformed or just plain guess work. Where as this is very insightful and cuts through the nonsense and fluff I'd heard surrounding it.

The story is told from both sides with a good timeline. It's gripping and worth a watch even if you'd never come across this case before.

If you like stuff related to true crime give this a chance, it is more than worthy of your time.

Gripping documentary that will have you glued to the screen from start to finish and tells the story of a heist that didn't go as planned.

The robbers take you on a journey of how they targeted the mark, all through the planning stages to the actually heist itself. Each one being totally honest and opening up on everything.

Along the journey you also hear from the cooper who was dead set on bringing them down, following what was happening down the station and how they were investigating this crew. How did they know? Who gave them information?

This is a must watch for anyone who has a love for real true life crime.

Best True Crime Doc 2022

This was an awesome True Crime Doc. The story, camera work and timeline were well put together, everything flowed and nothing felt out of place or like a backtrack.

It is clear all parties involved went to great ends to ensure a faithful retelling. This can be seen in the cast. All people involved with or close to the events in question. Well done to the director for getting them all on board.

I especially liked the meeting of the two masterminds.

I would recommend this to anyone interested in True Crime Docs without any hesitation. One of the best I have seen in a long while and certainly the best of 2022.

Realism at its finest

What an incredible look into an amazing two side story! Especially being from the area this took place in a lot of the people and places were so relatable and were superbly honest - in this day and age that is a rarity as it is!

The descriptions and details on how this all unfolded from both sides over time opened my eyes to both the criminal side and the side of law - personally I preferred the criminal side but that's just my preference!

Thoroughly enjoyed sitting down and taking all the information in and formulating my own opinion from the two story's - I would definitely recommended!👏🏻👏🏻

Gripping crime documentary.

I must say I loved every aspect of this true crime documentary. I myself have worked on plenty of documentaries, tv series and movies and watched plenty in my time. This in particularly had a real unique feel. The way it has been directed is so refreshing and had me engaged for the whole duration.

It was very clear and easy to follow. The information that has been gathered to create a truly eye opening film is outstanding and must've taken a lot of time to gather and prep. It's also good to get two sides of the story from both the police officers and the robbers. Truly genius from the whole team.

Would recommend to anyone looking for a real London crime documentary, great story from start to finish. 10/10!
