The heart-warming tale of a mother-daughter relationship - Best Friends Forever, helmed by Sandeep Modi, is creating quite a stir in the world of short films. Sandeep even won the National Award for this educational short film, which was adjudged as the 'Best Film on Family Values' at the recently announced prestigious awards.
Talking about the film, Sandeep who is an alumnus of Ftii Pune and a renowned name in the advertising industry said, "Best Friends Forever is a perspective. What happens when we build our life towards a loved one, nurture her, support her and when she is ready to fly off we feel jealous and betrayed as we are not ready for the selflessness expected of us? I wanted to discover the emotional state of a mother who has given it all and is now on the brink, realizing she is no longer needed as her daughter is now ready to 'fly solo'.

Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Pvt. Ltd. (Agppl) is celebrating its 10-year anniversary by both looking back at the wonderful memories created across films like Swades, Jodhaa Akbar, What’s Your Raashee? Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey and their recent television production Everest, and also looking into the future with Mohenjo Daro and other new projects.
Years ago Ashutosh told his wife Sunita that he wanted to start a production house under which he would direct his films but only on the condition that she hold the reigns of production. And on December 17, 2004 when their first film Swades released, it was clear that they made a formidable team and Agppl quickly became a respected production house associated with entertaining and yet meaningful big screen cinema. However, if one thinks that is the only thing the sub-continent is famous for, then one would be very mistaken. Though only in the industry a few years, music composer Sohail Sen has certainly made fans and critics take notice with his outstanding and unique compositions. We first heard his work on Ashutosh Gowariker’s What’s Your Raashee?. For this production, he had to come up with a different tune to represent each of the 12 signs and he did it brilliantly. In fact, we gave the Ost 3.5 stars and a rave review. He then moved on to another Gowariker film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey and showed a completely different side as a composer. Once again we were full of praise for the music and gave the album 3.5 stars. With each new film he manages to create something that is fresh and also fits the tone and vibe of the film. We hear this skill once again with the music for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, which is a mix...

Sohail Sen has already made an impression in Bollywood with his compositions for Ashutosh Gowariker (What’s Your Raashee? and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey). With the highly anticipated Mere Brother Ki Dulhan soundtrack, Sohail Sen hops on over to Yrf to try his hand at composing for mainstream, commercial cinema…with excellent results.
The title track Mere Brother Ki Dulhan opens the album with a bang. This track is so much fun to listen to – it’s poppy and addictive, combining desi beats with all kinds of instrumental flourishes – including a Bollywood favourite: horns! The track is all held together with Kk’s driving vocals and an infectious singalong chorus…it’s total pop confection that sets a super tone for the album.
A grungy guitar riff ushers in Dhunki, a jewel of a track that Neha Bhasin absolutely owns. Her voice is breathtaking – fierce and confident and soaring.

He's going through a rough patch professionally, what with Raavan, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey and Game sinking faster than Titanic at the box-office. Dum Maaro Dum, his new release, is expected to pull Abhishek Bachchan out of the crisis. A tantalizing song, pulsating action sequences, a generous dose of skin show, an ensemble star cast... Dum Maaro Dum seems like the perfect package to woo the viewers in hordes. At least initially. Thereafter, the content will do the talking. Abhishek doesn't deny he's nervous. "I haven't watched the film in entirety. Sure, I have watched the rough cut, but not with the complete background score et al. I've been travelling, promoting the film in various cities, so I haven't really had the time to watch the final print. But I am nervous. There's an extra pressure on this film," Abhishek tells me.
