Talented ensemble in entertaining episode
hisforhilltopnow4 January 2022
I've been bingeing The Rookie since the start of covid hell and I waited for the winter return with great expectation. Loved the episode! It was the swiftest hour this season and I felt like I got to know each of the stories for all the ensemble characters super well in a short amount of time. Awesome episode! I like this season just as much as the first three seasons. Don't lose faith. Everything else in the world sucks right not. Not The Rookie.

More Wesley-Jason Storylines Please
SourCandyOrNoCandy19 May 2022
I got so excited to see Boom Boom from NCIS: Hawai'i!!

I thought they were going to make Chris and Chen a Wesley-Lopez situation. That took an unexpected turn.

Also, there's absolutely no way that is Tim's house lol. Absolutely noooo way lol.

Best parts of the episode?

  • I love Ashley. Tim really knows how to pick his girlfriends. I loved Rachel and I love her too. I also really like that Chen likes her. The fact that she's a lifeguard is the most random choice but I love it lol.

  • I'm lovinggg this Wesley-Jason friendship. I hope this continues for a while because they're a great pair.

  • I always love storylines of criminals who pay other people to do their prison sentences for them so this was pretty interesting. I also really liked that we got to see Oscar again. He's my favourite recurring villain.

Worst parts of the episode?

  • I already know that I'm going to hate this Jason-Bailey storyline. That brought it down a star for me.

Another great episode

Warning: Spoilers
The show continues to be high entertainment and suspenseful. And when I say that, it's not because you can't figure it out. It's because you become so invested in the characters and themes, that you are blinded to what will happen. Or you are afraid of what will happen

Half way in I was like "oh no, don't kill her off". But then they surprised me with a twist. But then again, I'm like "oh no, she is going to get shanked in prison"

I hope the show keeps going with this magic: -Characters you can care about -Themes that aren't biased so that we can think for ourselves -great tempo -open and closed episodes -moderate suspense
  • gravity and consequences that make you feel in the episodes.

Ridiculous episode . Losing reality
vus293 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Can take the plane crash... How did it in not explode? How did it leave a clearly preserved fingerprint on the window? Or the unscathed bag of gold? Why are the police taking fingerprints now? How do police go direct into a prisoners cell room for an interview? Then have a speakerphone conversation in earshot of said prisoner? So much more I could mention. This show is losing reality for the sake of a plot. I hope they get that grip back. Absolutely ridiculous episode!

High School
huskydad25 April 2022
The writers had their High School kids write this. Every interaction between Bailey and Nolan is like High School drama. In fact why have Fillion act like a middle scool male? (How many characters above?)

Nose dive just like the plane
addresscode3 January 2022
This show was entertaining the first two seasons but lately it's just horrible. It's ashame, the cast is good but they seem to have forgotten how to act. I felt like I was watching a soap opera with the filming and I agree with the other review, the music is too loud and drowns out the dialogue.

Writers should understand how divorce and domestic violence are handled in California
dagoprincess25 April 2024
I enjoy this show even though most of the scenarios are used on other shows. I have never had any complaints. However, two things frustrated me about this episode. They may seem trivial but they were important to me 30 years ago. First, if you want to be divorced in California, you get divorced. You don't need the cooperation of your spouse. When I got my divorce in California, it didn't matter that my ex refused to respond or sign anything. I was still divorced in 6 months. Second, because I was a victim of domestic violence, my divorce was handled and paid for by volunteer attorneys. It was a rough time for my two little boys and I., I appreciated the safety that I felt being in California because they have zero tolerance for domestic violence. My ex found out where I was but he didn't come after me because he was told that he couldn't get away with hurting his family. It was also very easy to get a restraining order. I felt safe and I also felt I had the freedom of choice when it came to the divorce.
