(S4. E4) My Live Reaction / Review for True Blood Season 4 Episode 4 ''I'm Alive and on Fire''. Episode 3 was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Lol, Eric being funny. Wow, Crystal and her people force Jason to have sex with them to make babies? That's so disturbing and disgusting. Finally Jason escaped. So I wonder if Jason will turn into a werepanther. Sookie is lying to Bill about Eric, I didn't expect that. Tommy's parents are so messed up. If Jason drinks Jessica's blood, does that mean that they will be connected now? Overall a really good episode, my rating is 9/10.

Eric killing Sookie's fairy godmother wasn't enough, they had to turn him into a Drunken Våmpire ! He certainly didn't go all Jackie Chan on Bill but his naked bath in bright daylight was refreshing. Anna Paquin's 100% certified blonde magic did it again and the sea monster joke was hilarious. The only thing missing was a swarm of floating gator corpses, fake ones of course. But my favorite part this time wasn't their adventure but Jason's one. Indeed in this fourth installment it was Ryan Kwanten's talent turn to shine even if his performance and role had been quite terrific so far. What a nightmare and it all happened in one dusty room ! But his little chat with the young girl proved that Jason is one of the characters that has evolved the most since season 1. Of course his priority was to be free but between lines we could all read his humanity and that he really meant what he said, that the first time it shouldn't be like this. As for his run in the wild it could have been better in my opinion. Indeed I loved his survivalist spirit but I wish they had pushed the concept even further, by turning him into an awkward Rambo for example. Still witnessing him taking out the black panther was intense and until Jessica saved the day it really felt like his life was in great danger. The dirty make-up and scars he had on his chest also made things even more believable.

I'll pass on Bill and Portia's arc because I found it slightly rushed and almost didn't get that she was her gran-gran-granddaughter. Shouldn't it excite them instead or something ? No in the end the real meat was delivered by Sookie again. All her connections with the male who revolve around her are interesting. First Eric almost kissed her and I wonder what will happen once he gets his mind back. Second she convinced a reluctant Bill not to search her home and for a second I thought he would find her protégé. Third and not least Alcide. Damn Joe Manganiello is hot and his six pack is supernatural ! Boys have ravishing creatures like Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica – but Pam still kicks her ass) and girls have Joe the shapeshifter ! Seriously his friendship with Sookie is inspiring and I found their warm hug quite touching. As for the witches Fiona Shaw is perfect as the wicked Marnie. She's the kind of sweet actress you would cast as a good character so they definitely made the right move when hiring her ! However the trap she drove Pam into was a little too obvious and I saw it coming the very first seconds she began her hocus pocus inside the rocks circle. But Lucky Tara, Good Voodoo Lafayette and his wonder boyfriend make one hell of a Scooby gang ! I can't wait for the white guy to meet a painful death, or live happily ever after in Mistress Pam's dungeon.
