Preserving history

This film does an amazing job of letting you see and feel what people experienced who were lucky enough to survive the holocaust. The subjects truly help you feel how lucky they were and how much tragedy they experienced. Their resilience is amazing. The film is very well produced to preserve such critical history for generations to come.

My teenagers and I watched this amazing film which brings to light the horrors of the times but also the perseverance of a people. There is amazing footage that documents for the audience a true view of what was happening. Incredible research and direction. The historical value is unprecedented. I loved the personal connection as well. A true treasure.

Outstanding Film!

This film addresses the holocaust from a different perspective, that of people who lived among the citizenry during the holocaust. This is unique, and captures the story of 4 brave and lucky Jews who were able to live during this awful period, primarily out of concentration camps. The stories are well illustrated with excellent historical photos of the period.

Well done! Must see!

A must see documentary about survival and the Holocaust, for young and old
nymystery-8510514 August 2022
I'm a child of Holocaust survivors and very involved in Holocaust education. I'm also a regular girl who appreciates a great movie. This documentary hit the jackpot and ticked all of my buttons. It is well produced (with unusual historical footage I've never seen anywhere else), has several very dramatic stories (each worthy of its own movie) and is very easy to follow (although of course not easy to digest). I really thought about it a lot after I viewed it. This is engaging for all ages and a thought provoking must see for young people around the world, who will discover many life lessons about the Holocaust and who will be forever changed by its perspective. If you're interested in the Holocaust this is a must-see, and if you're just a fan of great award-winning documentaries and amazing stories of luck and survival, you should see this as well. History should never repeat itself, and this film shows us why.

Outstanding and different

This is not just another historical film about the Holocaust. This is a gripping history based on peoples' experiences. It's about people who survived... and often their survival was simply based on luck.

Not To Be Missed Documentary
sunnyneutze29 August 2022
Paul Bachow has a knack for producing powerful documentaries and this one is no exception. Bachow has tackled an aspect of the Holocaust to which no one else has thought to give voice - those fortunate enough to survive. Mr Bachow has done a masterful job of telling the stories of a number of survivors through their own words. Their words come alive and one can sense the fear that must have been coursing through their veins as they avoided or outwitted the Nazis. Paul Bachow has raised the bar for historical documentaries, and it is indeed very high. This is a must-see film for anyone who seeks to learn the full story of what occurred during this low point in human history.

Another Top Notch Documentary by Paul Bachow
dennisnavy29 August 2022
Paul Bachow has an uncanny talent for creating documentaries. He has taken an obscure part of the history of the Holocaust and dug very deeply. Bachow has captured the disparate stories of four survivors that paint a picture of grit and determination with a huge dose of luck thrown in. The stories are even more amazing when one considers that these acts of self-preservation were taken by children. The very idea for this film is commendable, the research was meticulous, and the presentation is spectacular. The film deserves every accolade that it has or will receive for the telling of a heretofore untold aspect of one of the worst tragedies in human history. Hats off to Paul Bachow, storyteller extraordinaire.
