The third installment of the new Saarbruecken Tatort Team is the culmination of a bizarre family drama involving one of the Detectives Adam and his team member Leo, who are childhood friends. Adam is summoned under false pretenses by his estranged father, an abusive career criminal who is the embodiment of evil. This seemingly desperate call "to sit down and talk" is a trap of diabolical and insane proportions.

The twists in the plot give a view into a mind of a truly evil man, who seems to enjoy nothing more than inflicting pain and suffering on those around him. The ending is somewhat predictable, yet lets the viewer expect a more hopeful continuation to the theme; the drama of Adam and Leo, two men living with the wounds and nightmares of the past. This is the best of the 3 films thus far, and I look forward to what comes next!

With the third case from Saarbrücken, the father-son drama finally gains momentum. After his encounter with the psychopath colleague from the second case, the crazy father Schürk (Torsten MICHAELIS) finally realized that his son Adam (Daniel STRÄSSER) and probably also his friend/colleague Leo (Vladimir BURLAKOV) had something to do with his long-term coma have to do. You have to see for yourself what the psychopath dad came up with for his hated child! The whole event also has to do with the current murder case involving the detectives, in which modern surveillance options play a particularly important role.

There must be a particularly large number of mentally ill violent criminals in Saarbrücken and the surrounding area. But maybe that's just the normal social average. In THE HEART OF THE SNAKE it is also clarified how Papa Schürk used to earn his money.

The tense relationship with the two colleagues (Brigitte URHAUSEN, Ines Marie WESTERNSTRÖER) is gradually changing for the better, but unfortunately the two women are still nothing more than cue providers. Anna BÖTTCHER will be the forensic doctor Dr. Henny Wenzel was almost given more profile.

Michael ROTSCHOPF, Adrian Julius TILLMANN (BIOHACKERS) and, for the first time, Stephan BISSMEIER as Adam's uncle Boris can be seen in other roles. Who has such relatives!

When it was first broadcast on January 23, 2022 on ARD, 9.15 million viewers wanted to see this unusual TATORT episode.
