"You're not fighting for us, Rach. You're fighting to get what you want."
skteosk22 September 2010
Warning: Spoilers
So, it's Tony and Rachel's last episode. And even though a lot of screen time is devoted to them, after they were inexplicably absent from the previous one, it's not one for their fans to be proud of.This storyline has consisted of a few good ideas poorly executed and the last episode is nothing different. For about 80% of its running time, it runs on the spot with Tony and Rachel having the same conversations with each other and other people that they've been having for the last two weeks and the prospect of Lucas coming back being written off in such an offhanded way you wonder why it was raised in the first place.

Then we get the pay off as Rachel suddenly realises that Tony doesn't want to leave town because Jack's buried there.Which is what he told her two weeks ago pretty much.So she goes home and, throwing aside every instinct she's previous shown, announces that a job isn't worth risking their marriage over and she's staying. At which point, for no apparent reason, without even pausing, he announces he'll go with her! Did someone think they had two more episodes than they did or something?!The farewell scene just coasts along with a bunch of perfunctory "Yeah, bye" lines, with only Tony's farewells to John and Xavier showing any real attempt at characterisation. The last scene of Tony and Rachel visiting Jack's grave is a beaut but you need an awful lot of good will to make it that far.

Only plus points are again John and Xavier along with some nice characterisation for Gina and April.Although Xavier really needs to understand the latter's sense of humour...
