Reasonable Doubt
claudio_carvalho28 December 2021
When the sociopath and rapist Henry Dahl is found shot several times in the head in a cheap motel, the CBI assumes the case. Dahl has been recently released based on the review of the DNA evidence of his most notorious case, the rape and murder of Jenny Winter. Her husband Max Winter becomes the prime suspect, but he surprisingly says that the reached reconciliation dedicating his life to his son Jackson and going to a shooting range. Soon there is an empathy between Patrick and Max. Meanwhile, the agents find that Dahl had a pen pall, his former sweetheart Betsy Meyers, who is married with Sean Meyers. Who might be the killer?

"Red Carpet Treatment" is an episode of "The Mentalist", where Patrick Jane finds a man with his feeling of revenge. The empathy between them are the best scenes, with Patrick questioning the feelings of Max. The conclusion, with the reasonable doubt of who really killed the scum Henry Dahl, is excellent. My vote is eight.

Love this show. But,...

...the writers/researchers are really bad at putting the locations relative to Sacramento, CA where the headquarters of the (fictional) CBI are located. FYI, Sacramento is in the northern, central part of California.

In this episode Lodi, CA and San Francisco, CA were used as references. Lodi was said to be a "long and hot" drive by Rigsby, compared to San Francisco. My point is that San Francisco is close to 90 miles from Sacramento. Whereas Lodi is less than 40 miles almost due south on highway 99. And Lodi is not as hot as Sacramento, usually. Bakersfield or someplace in the Mojave desert would have been more fitting.

Another thing is when they do go anywhere in this long and wide and congested state it doesn't take them anytime. I wish that it was true.

I know it's fiction, but please just try a little harder. All I am asking is that the writers/researchers take a minute to look at a map.

Beam me over (up), Lisbon.
