Barrage du Nil (1897)
The Lumiere companies tour of the world continued in 1897 as this film here was shot in Egypt. Obviously one shouldn't' be expecting any sort of story or anything like that. Instead the camera is simply placed on a street and we see what the people were doing at that time. This one here offers us quite a bit to see as there are quite a few people walking by the camera, which gives us a great chance to see what type of clothing was being worn back then. We also get a great shot at a form of transportation where an object is on a track with two men riding it while another man pushes them. Obviously there's nothing ground-breaking here but this is a fun actuality movie.
