Finally some action on the morgana/arthur/uther front, it felt like all of season 3 was delaying the inevitable. Decent acting and storyline. Though 'the cup of life' just doesn't have as good a ring to it as 'the holy grail'.

Good idea poor execution

This episode, together with the final one of this season, bring together characters and storylines. That is always exciting for a show, however, it feels very rushed (which feels even more disappointing after a filling episodes like the one immediately before). Characters act under their capacities just to reach a point necessary for the development of the story (SPOILER the writers need to make the characters lose the Cup of life so they minimise the capacities and character traits of Merlin, Arthur, and even Uther). It is a shame the writers didn't take their time to better write the story these characters deserve for the season finale.
