This episode is the show at its best, bringing together elements and characters from the other series and even introducing classic elements from that the legend that make this final stand out. Series Three's story arc comes together for this episode, the pace never slows and it in general the episode has an epic feel to it. I don't want to spoil anything but I will say this episode revolves around Athur coming closer to the person he is destined to be. This is character development at its most epic. This is what Merlin should always be and its really left me anticipating Series Four. Also I enjoyed this more than Doctor Who's Big Bang final. now THATS saying something.

Can this get any better? I had tears in my eyes, they cleverly laid the ground work for moving the story forward, Sword in its right place, the Evil which is exposed, and Arthur is ready to take up the ropes, what next? This story makes Merlin truly believable, the down to earth behavior between Arthur and Merlin is true friendship developing over time, as we know they are together for a log time, so they must be friends, the acting makes this truly believable, and I can see a Movie coming from this serious, possibly like the doctor who where they produce a Xmas Movie with a good nail biting plot with our friendly but parent like Dragon, who on one hand shows fierce emotion behavior, layered with caring wise statements of guidance. On one hand he Says, Merlin you are responsible for all the bad things for not letting the witch live, but on the other hand, in allegiance with merlin against the Dark witch. A Truly enjoyable Series that is Child Safe, and Adult interesting, Comical moments that surprise, with the serious stuff making you sit on the edge of your Chair.
