Robert Downey Jr. called it “mind-blowing” to see Jeremy Renner up on his feet and celebrating at Chris Evans’ wedding last September. The Captain America actor tied the knot with Alba Baptista in a private ceremony in Cape Cod, Mass., and was surrounded by his longtime Marvel co-stars. Renner was hospitalized at the start of 2023 with near-fatal injuries after his snow plow ran him over.
As part of Chris Hemsworth’s new Vanity Fair cover, some of Evans’ Marvel co-stars remembered attending the wedding and being so proud of Renner’s recovery. Hemsworth attended the nuptials with his mother, who Downey called “a complete hoot. There’s a lot of her in him.”

Jeremy Renner has been out of commission for a year since having his unfortunate snow plow accident. Much of his past year was spent rehabilitating his body after suffering blunt chest trauma and 30 broken bones. However, even with his recovery putting a pause on the actual filming of projects, Renner would still have a couple of TV works set to make their debut during the year. Season 2 of his hit Paramount+ show, Mayor of Kingstown, would premiere along with his Disney+ series, Rennervations, which saw the actor reimagine large decommissioned vehicles into “mind-blowing creations” that serve kids in communities worldwide.
Renner had recently returned to start shooting season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown, and the Avengers star would admit his nervousness to being back at work after the hiatus. He would commemorate the occasion with an Instagram post that featured him on set with the caption, “Day one on set … nervous today.

Jeremy Renner marked 10 months of recovery since his near fatal snow plow accident by posting a video of him running up and down his inclined driveway, which he says was his “first attempt at any of this activity.” Renner was hospitalized for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries on Jan. 1 after his Sno-Cat, a large snow plow that weighs at least 14,330 pounds, ran him over.
“Today marks the day on 10 months of recovery,” Renner captioned the new video post. “First attempt at any of this activity (especially at steep grade) and was brought to tears of joy, hopefulness, and gratitude for all your support along with my family and friends… I keep pushing for many reasons, but you are my fuel.”
Renner was trying to help his nephew out of the snow near his home in Lake Tahoe when the Sno-Cat crushed him at the start of the year.

Jeremy Renner’s road to recovery prompted a partial reassembling of The Avengers.
Last month, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans made an under-the-radar trip to Los Angeles to visit Renner, who was involved in a near-fatal accident on Jan. 1 when he was crushed by a 7-ton snowcat. The “Hawkeye” actor broke more than 30 bones and suffered orthopedic injuries and blunt chest trauma while trying to reach his nephew who was stuck in a snowdrift.
“I was honestly so fucking happy to see him. I didn’t know if I was ever going to see him again,” Johansson tells Variety in a cover story about her 30-year career that includes eight Marvel movies, several of them alongside Renner. “To not only see him again but to see him thriving and in such an amazing space, mentally. Jeremy Renner is celebrating his progress. On Saturday, the “Rennervations” star shared a video documenting his progress walking on his own — following the snowplow accident that almost took his life in January.
“My Pt made this for reference and to remember, you cannot walk unless you take one step at a time! #onefootinfrontoftheother,” the 52-year-old actor wrote next to the video shared on Instagram.
The video begins with Renner walking using the assistance of a walker as a person pushes a wheelchair is close behind him. As the clip — which is filmed from the waist down to show off his feet — continues, fans can see Renner go from walking with assistance, to moving with a balance support band, walking on the treadmill, and walking with a cane in his hand.

Jeremy Renner’s nephew recounts the “Avengers” star’s horrific snow plow accident in new body camera footage released by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Dept.
On Jan. 1, Renner was run over by his Sno-Cat, a large snow plow that weighs at least 14,330 pounds, as he attempted to help his 27-year-old nephew, Alex Fries, free a pickup truck lodged in the snow.
When Renner exited his Sno-Cat to check on Fries, the vehicle kept moving. The actor was stuck under the plow’s tread as he tried to stop it from hitting Fries.
In the footage, obtained by ABC News, Fries is heard telling law enforcement, “He got out to tell me something, and then that’s when it started coming at me, full force.”
“Right where his blood is at, that’s where it all happened,” Fries told officers, adding, “He tried to jump on it, into the [snow plow], and it took him under.

‘Rennervations': Jeremy Renner ‘Did Not Want the Spotlight on Him,’ Best Friend and Co-Producer Says
When Rory Millikin first met Jeremy Renner a few years ago, he had no idea who the “Avengers” star was. Millikin was raving about Denis Villeneuve’s “Arrival,” and when Renner explained he one of the main actors, Millikin insisted, “Nope, that wasn’t you.”
Millikin told TheWrap that Renner was amused instead of offended and said, “Either we’re never going to see each other again or we’re going to be best friends.” The two did end up becoming best friends and now co-star and co-produce “Rennervations” on Disney+.
In the heartwarming docuseries, the two men team up with a crew of builders and various charitable organizations to transform decommissioned vehicles like buses and fire engines into mobile music studios, a water filtration unit and more, aided by international stars including Vanessa Hudgens, Anthony Mackie and Indian actor Anil Kapoor.

Jeremy Renner has kept his fans in the loop through every step of his recovery process, from his initial hospital stay to literal steps (with the aid of a pretty cool anti-gravity machine) to his recent red carpet reemergence. And while Renner has been transparent with both his followers and the media, he has really only been able to offer one side of the ordeal. Now, Christopher Vincent, a chiropractic sports physician who worked closely with the actor, has detailed the pain he went through in a way that maybe even Renner couldn’t.
“I mean, it’s bad enough with one of those traumas,” said Vincent, citing the 30+ broken bones Renner suffered. “The fracture through his tibia was so severe that that alone…mentally you can’t deal with that much pain…When you’ve got 30 of those, your body is just sending pain signals to your brain from every part of your body.

Jeremy Renner’s trainer, Christopher Vincent, opened up for the first time to People magazine about the actor’s physical therapy following his snow plow accident in January. The incident left the “Hawkeye” actor hospitalized with blunt chest trauma, orthopedic injuries and over 30 broken bones in his body. Nearly three months later, Renner walked the red carpet with a cane at the world premiere of his Disney+ series “Rennervations.”
“He’s an extremely unique and rare person. I’ve worked with hundreds and thousands of athletes, celebrities, regular people, and it’s really a special personality that has that drive and determination,” Vincent said. “[He will] get through it to where you are back stronger than you were before the accident.”
Vincent is a chiropractic sports physician and trainer who Renner has been working with since 2011. As expected, Vincent said that Renner’s pain in the first weeks after the accident was “excruciating.

When you cover entertainment, you learn that things aren’t often what they seem. Everyone cleans up nice and puts on their best face and threads to project an image, an idea, a point of view that’s more perception than reality. Marketing and promotion are king. If done with the proper sincerity, they can convince you that a blue carpet is in fact red, leaving you to wonder if your eyes are deceiving you or if deception is simply built into the presentation.

Jeremy Renner had his family by his side at the Los Angeles premiere of his new Disney+ show, "Rennervations," on Tuesday night. He appeared to be in good spirits as he walked the red carpet holding his 10-year-old daughter Ava Berlin Renner's hand. The appearance marked Renner's first red carpet since his snowplow accident in January.
The 52-year-old actor had been saving his nephew Alexander Fries when the accident occurred. In a recent interview with Diane Sawyer, Renner revealed that while lying in the snow after being crushed by a 14,000-pound machine, he thought he was definitely going to die. "If I was there on my own, that would have been a horrible way to die," he said. "And surely it would've. Surely. But I wasn't alone. It was my nephew, sweet Alex, and the rest of the cavalry came."

While it’s easy to assume that Jeremy Renner would likely want to get rid of the massive snowplow that crushed him back in January, leaving him with more than 30 broken bones and several surgeries, it turns out that the actor has other plans in mind — to keep the 14,000-plus-pound machine.
“My mom wants to … light it on fire — and it would be a whole party, lighting it on fire,” he told Jimmy Kimmel, who served as the moderator during a Q&a session after Tuesday night’s premiere of his Disney+ series “Rennervations”.
“But no, that thing’s amazing,” he continued, revealing his intentions to keep the snowplow. “I love this thing.”

Jeremy Runner credited his new Disney+ docuseries “Rennervations” with giving him focus during his recovery from his devastating snowplow accident, he told the audience at the Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday night.
Although the globe-trotting series was filmed long before his Jan. 1 accident, he insisted from his hospital bed that the “Rennervations” premiere date should not be delayed. “It was the third or fourth day,” recalled producer Romilda De Luca, “The first thing he said was, ‘Don’t move the show.'”
“A big part of my recovery was the show,” he told the audience at the Regency Village Theater in Westwood. “It set a big milestone for me to get better, to make sure that our hard work was not for naught. I ran my damn self over, right? Like there’s no alternative. To me, it was easy because I had somewhere to go and somewhere to point...

Jeremy Renner was back up on his feet on Tuesday (April 11) night for the red carpet premiere of his new Disney+ series Rennervations, three months after a near-fatal snow plow accident left him hospitalized with over 30 broken bones and a collapsed lung. Walking the carpet with the use of a cane, Renner appeared alongside his family to pose for photographs before hopping onto a motorized scooter to help him through the press interviews. “I was really adamant about them not pushing this thing while there was momentum with the brass at Disney, with us, with the timing of it in all of our lives. It just felt right,” Renner told Variety about the Rennervations premiere. “I look a little beat up right now, but I promise you this show is what’s propelling me to get better and makes me want to get better every day.” Frank Micelotta / PictureGroup for...
