Just a typical TNA PPV. Nothing special.

Sacrifice 2010 Thoughts

Sacrifice 2010 was the 6th Sacrifice PPV event produced by TNA. It took place on May 16, 2010 at the TNA Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida. Buyrate was at 8,000 (which was low under TNA standards).

This was in the mid of 2010 and TNA was on a major drastic downfall with booking adjustments and a questionable backstage staff. Card had 9 matches contested with the most important matchup being the main event for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Rob Van Dam defended the gold against the Phenomenal AJ Styles. RVD won the belt in controversial booking after in with the company for little time. AJ Styles was under his worst gimmick of his TNA career and was also in question of how he was being treated.

The Good - A lot of matches on the show delivered. The two best matches were the X-Division Championship match and the Main event. X-Division Championship match was great technical style and fast paced. RVD vs. AJ Styles was good but for some reason it wasn't what anyone would imagine. For two excellent performers the 2 just didn't connect. Still ended the show at a good matter. Jeff Hardy vs. Mr. Anderson did well the crowd was really into both athletes.

The Meh - The Knockouts Championship match didn't feel like an important story ending like they tried to make it (and it later didn't age well anyway). It felt a bit too rush with no Memorable moment. Desmond Wolfe vs. Abyss was getting a little interesting but the stupid ending of Abyss Hulking up really did a number on it. Storyline was one of the worst stories of TNA that year. But it entertained the crowd.

The Bad - TNA Tag Team Championship match was really bad. Was it one of the worst matches in history? No. But watching Scott Hall in that ring trying to keep up was cringy. Kevin Nash & Scott Hall in that ring with the belts was one of the major issues people had with TNA. Rob Terry vs. Orlando Jordan was bland and felt like a typical TV match. Highly forgettable.

Overall - Not recommended. I give it a slight thumbs above the middle due to not having an infamous abomination match on the show but it also didn't carry an instint classic or tremendous match to rewatch. Again something big was missing.

Score - 6 out of 10: Decent

0 = Terrible : 1 = Bad/Lackluster : 2 = Decent : 3 = Good : 4 = Awesome : 5 = One of the Best of all Time
