New Important Perspectives on Jesus' Life
dglass6322 February 2011
"A Feast of Uncertainty" represents, is, an unprecedented look at Jesus' life, lifework, teachings, and ministry as presented in the book mentioned in the introductory material to this film, The Urantia Book, which contains a statement to the effect that those who become successful in their long mortal and post-mortal quest for God shall learn to "feast upon uncertainty," that is, to thrive in making courageous and progressive decisions in the presence of incomplete or partial information regarding all the ramifications of such necessary choosing. The story of Jesus' life presented in this superbly intriguing film proceeds to unfold an account of how Jesus made bold, brave, and even death-defying decisions in the pursuit of his life's work and divine mission. Filmed on location in modern Israel, this documentary-style film covers the full life of Jesus, alternating between information regarding conditions and artifacts from Jesus' time with contemporary vistas, showing the present-day circumstances prevailing in the locations where Jesus' eventful life unfolded. "A Feast of Uncertainty" is also a record of one man's exploratory journey through modern-day Israel and what he found there as he walked in the footsteps of the Master. Because of the admissions of the narrative accompanying the visuals of the film, stating that the locations filmed are at best approximations of where actual events in Jesus' life took place, the title seems to reflect the filmer's courage and tenacity in his attempt to determine accurate locations for events whose locale is historically uncertain, indefinite, or unclear. "A Feast of Uncertainty" should not be missed: It is not only a gripping personal adventure record, but a bold new presentation of newly acquired information regarding the mission and ministry, the life, of the Son of Man and the Son of God. I recommend it supremely for anyone interested in the lifework of the most influential personality to grace our planet to date.

Eye Opening

For a young reader of the Urantia Book like myself, this film makes a beautiful exploration into the content of the papers. After 5 years of reading them, watching A Feast of Uncertainty shed miles of much-needed light upon the astounding and unspeakable depth of the book and made it seem so much more real to me. I can only imagine something to the same effect for older readers as well.

As a film on its own the camera work does not stand out stylistically whatsoever, but it is genuine. Certain scenes coupled with the well-selected, well-timed musical pieces melted together flawlessly with the imagery and admittedly caused my eyes to water.

I loved watching this film. My mother, who is not a reader, was crying by the time the credits started rolling. This movie is a simple and beautiful look from an uncommon perspective, I believe it would be of great value to anyone who decides to watch it.

If you like it, and haven't read the Urantia Book, try it out will ya!?
