This is seriously the trippiest Blue Man Group concert I've ever been to

Set in the same world as Judge Dredd(...or at least from the same comic, 2000AD, and it's by Rebellion, who also did Dredd Vs. Death, so I'm guessing they have the full license for the series... and with how relatively well they're doing, I definitely say kudos to them for it), this has you avenging your fallen comrades. Also... no, wait, that's kind of it. Well, there's a traitor that serves as the villain, but there's no real weight to that. And you don't win the overall war, instead it ends(after a length barely beyond that of a Max Payne title) with sequel-bait(and not a real boss fight, if it is tough). You do get level selector, and other cheats: low gravity, hippy blood, extreme ragdoll. All three are self-explanatory. The very game-play is essentially Splinter Cell lite, with tactical shooting, some stealth and gadgets. It doesn't use the motion controls anywhere near enough(and not necessarily well when it does), and is thus not attractive as Avatar. So what is the appeal of this? The universe. While I have not read the graphic novels, it would appear that this goes far in bringing the page to the small screen. And if it isn't, well, at least this rocks for those who go in blind and love post-apocalyptic sci-fi. You roam the deadly surface of Nu Earth(and you get an Encyclopedia on it, that is one of the only unlockables to this, along with additional difficulty settings and what else I've mention), a planet that is important to both sides on account of it being just by a black hole, discovered to be a useful, potential portal to anywhere in the galaxy, and has long since been nuked beyond all natural life. The only things that exist("thrive" doesn't enter into it) on the surface are the human soldiers, covered in thick suits complete with their own individual oxygen supply(you *gotta* treat yourself to putting a hole in some of those... the guy will be instantly incapacitated, and you'll see him fly off after a few seconds... just note that you may not get anything out of his body), the mutated remains of the indigenous forms, and... you. One of the GI's(and your name really is Rogue... yeah), or Genetic Infantryman(the female ones don't seem to wear undies... I guess you gotta save somewhere), you can go without any security gear. Your skin is hardened(and discolored... I don't know exactly why), you can withstand the toxic atmosphere, and your eyes are shiny white, and lack pupils. Yeah. I don't know what that last one is for. When your three buddies die, you pick up their Biochips, that contain their abilities(meaning you have the power of four separately specialized troops) and brains(...and yes, they do talk to you... it isn't that irritating, though), and implement them into your rifle(allowing assisted aiming and placement of it as a sentry gun(leaving you with only your pistol until you pick it back up) with 360 degrees of efficiency just like your camera(that does get annoying, because moving in any direction does not make up for suddenly looking the wrong way and not having a center function)), helmet(enabling hacking, and the use of a hologram to fool snipers, nifty) and backpack(allowing you to upgrade your features and purchase additional ammo, using the material scavenged from the dead and destroyed enemies). You have the following underslungs to your assault rifle(and scoped precision one) with optional silencer: shotgun, mortar(pretty good aim system... you indicate who you want the three slugs to hit, it'll fire up above it and land on them), the Beam weapon(yeah, electrical... run of the mill; cycling through them ought to go faster), Sammy Launcher(heat-seeker... it takes time to lock on, and can't make corners(what can I say, don't put it behind the wheel), other than that, it literally can take down friggin' planes(whether they're dropping foes near your position or pummeling you with a high caliber; it doesn't seem to work against the Drill... yeah, think the APC from Tiberian Sun... no, *really*), and the two sizes of mechs(!). The latter, you can also take out with Scramblers(they're EMP, or something like that), one of the types of grenades, along with frag, Micro-mines, Sticky(it'll try to attach itself to the target... even if it doesn't him him) and Incendiary("we don't need no water..."). The tossing system... I know what they went for, applaud the idea, still, it was done better in The Conduit. Raise your left arm, he'll ready one, flick the Nunchuk and he'll send it through the air, or lower it and he'll go back out of that(it takes too long). Yes, you can hit(if you hold your right hand still as if it was holding a full glass of Nitroglycerin). You can utilize emplacements, such as machine guns, the two cannons: flak, and the anti-artillery Hell one, and the Lazooka(no, I didn't misspell it... they might've). At no point do you drive or fly by your own power or control, if you do get to protect some from on them, for a few of the missions. That doesn't go for the multi-player, if the rest of the "metal" does show up in the co-op. There are only five, three for one of the modes(Progressive – get from A to B, alive) and two for the other(Stronghold – no, it's protective duty, and it's a greater challenge than the rest of it, seeming impossible). It's fun, if the split-screen gets on yer nerves(I only tried it with two, not four... man that must be frustrating). You can blind-fire from cover(it grabs them constantly, you'll wish it didn't). The dodge key being the same as action is not smart, you accidentally do one when looking to do the other and get killed. There is a lot of mild violence and disturbing content in this. I recommend this to those who love Terminator/that kind of world, and want a fairly solid gaming experience within it. 7/10
