**Massive spoilers for every Godzilla movie, with the exception of the 2014 reboot, and Mothra follow**
August 6th and 9th, 1945 forever changed the course of history. When the first nuclear bombs were dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, World War II ended, but a new fear was born that dominated the thoughts of all men, women, and children for decades to come. The Cold War, atomic bomb testing, a cartoon turtle telling children to “duck and cover”, and this new technology that had the actual potential to literally end the world changed the perception of what was scary. Art reflects life, so cinema began to capitalize on these fears. Gone were the days of creepy castles, cobwebs, bats, vampires, werewolves, and the other iconic images that ruled genre cinema in film’s earliest decades. Science fiction was larger than ever and giant ants, giant octopi, terror from beyond the stars, and...

Godzilla is a movie that everyone has heard about, even if they have never seen it. There have been so many manifestations of Godzilla in cinema, from the original 1954 version, to his battles with Mothra, Mechagodzilla and Hedorah, to the terrible 1998 Roland Emmerich version, to this one, 2014’s Godzilla, directed by Monsters director Gareth Edwards.
I was excited about this film since first hearing about it last year, and have been following its progression over the past few months as casting and further details were announced. When the first trailer arrived on the scene a few months ago I was further intrigued, and by the time the film was released this week, I was thoroughly anticipating the re-emergence of one of cinemas most famous monsters.

Godzilla Blu-ray Godzilla has a long and storied history on the big screen, and has been responsible for some memorable movie moments along with some dull ones. Gareth Edwards. 2014 Godzilla blockbuster is not without problems, but it mostly lands itself firmly in the former camp. After a compelling opening sequence, we get the story. Ford (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is a member of the Us Navy and has a fancy title that basically means he.s good with explosives. Early on, he heads to Japan to get his dad, Joe (Bryan Cranston), out of trouble with the law after a trespassing charge. Instead, the two become embroiled in a mystery surrounding a giant winged creature known as the Muto and a second creature known as Godzilla, who also happen to be natural enemies. It.s basic, monster-oriented premise is highly entertaining, but Godzilla is not without problems. Ford.s an unlikeable hero,...

Gareth Edwards' Godzilla film is making its way to DVD and Blu-ray on September 16th and, today, an extended clip dropped onto the web that's culled from the epic battle between Big G and a Muto. Yes, the one at the end of the movie where all of the action happens. It's a pretty great throw-down that culminates in the reveal of Godzilla's atomic blast.

It’s May now, and with the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 last weekend, we are clearly in summer movie season proper. And in that spirit, this week’s Trailer Trashin’ takes another look at my most anticipated movie of the summer – Godzilla.
Premise: The world’s most famous monster is pitted against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.
My take: As I’ve said multiple times in this columns, I am ridiculously excited for Godzilla. And with the release only a week away, my anticipation is at a fever pitch. Recently, a new Asian trailer, which is in English with what I believe are Mandarin Chinese subtitles, was released. This is probably the last trailer we’ll get before the movie’s release next week, and it really underscores why I’m so excited for the film. (Warning: Potential Spoilers Ahead!)

Here's a pretty incredible animated short film that was made by painting on public walls, so I guess you would call this wall art or graffiti animation. This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this done and it turned out to be very freakin' cool. The video is called Muto and it was created by an artist that goes by the name of Blu. This has been around for awhile so maybe you've seen it already, but if you haven't then I think you'll really enjoy it. Check out this inventive animated short below and tell us what you think!
