Beautifully observed understated comedy with a top-rank cast to get every ounce of effect from the dialogue. As soon as I saw the deadpan Brazilian translator in episode 2 cutting through straight through the platitudes being thrown at her, I recognised the writer as being John Morton who wrote my favourite series - People Like Us (also underrated, as this series seems fated to be).
What a pleasure watching Hugh Bonneville constantly struggling to rise above the incompetence as his team lets him down on every level.
Each episode is worth watching several times, as there are so many subtleties that you don't spot them all the first time.
Rings horribly true...
