The world is full of stories, and in the realm of short documentaries, statistically almost all of them have been captured. Into this crowded genre we have the small town of Seaton, in Texas, where descendants of Czech immigrants keep the dance hall tradition going in one of the old halls. As a story it is one that is quite interesting culturally, as the old people describe what the dancing means to them and to their background; however as a slightly longer running short film, it doesn't have enough content to really make it worth a look.
There is a certain warmth to the people, and charm to the place, and the film captures this fairly well, but outside of this the contributions/interviews tend not to be too interesting or insightful once you get beyond the basic information put up on the title cards. The people are characters, which does add some entertainment value to them being relaxed and chatty in front of the camera, but in the end this is much more of a curio than a film that will stay with you for long.
