He comes onstage, starts playing the piano. She comes onstage and begins to chant in time with the music. They banter, in the style of people letting the insults slip out almost as malapropisms.

They're very good in their timing, high speed, little time wasted. It's like the style of banter that Groucho Marx used to use, even when he was ad libbing. He comes off as very practiced, as if he has said these lines hundreds of times. She seems more natural in her delivery, and is all the funnier than that.

I expect they did this particular hundreds, maybe thousands of times on the vaudeville circuits. I wonder if they worked up a new routine after this, or continued to do this one until performing slipped away from them.
