Things are falling apart for Natalia. She can't pass Kacper and Zosia's love test, she "spoils" the toaster's handle, and turning off the light ends in an accident. The guys play suspiciously on TV cooking and critiquing food.
Tomek, Kacper and Zosia want to find a job for the holidays. Ludwik's job as a hockey coach is going reluctantly, but during the game he urges the boys to play harder under the untrained eye of the referee.
There is zero cooperation in the family. Kuba argues with Kacper from morning to night and ignores his mom's commands. Kacper doesn't know how to help with the household chores, and Tomek understands best with his grandfather.
Everyone is trying to be the cleverest. Kuba does Tomek's FB hack and hides the first piece of cake for himself. Kacper dropped the vacuum cleaner, and he comes out as a wonderful son. However, it doesn't always work out.
The school year begins. Kacper is stressing about second grade. Kuba helps him at home, but out of the house he no longer acknowledges his brother. Natalia has a lot to do, so Janina helps her.
Kuba has a girlfriend, Agata, who arouses mixed feelings. Janina teaches Tomek a lesson in communist ecology. Tom works at a sandwich bar. Natalia keeps embarrassing him.
Kacper is worried that he has lower results in school than Zosia. Ludwik comforts him that this is natural. Natalia and Ludwik arrange an evening just for two. Everything is spoiled by an unannounced visit from Natalia's parents.
The boys are becoming more independent: they can already make their own breakfast. Natalia is saddened by this and fears that she will soon cease to be of any use to them. Meanwhile, Ludwik announces that he feels like he's 18.
Kuba does everything he can not to appear scrooge-like to Agata. He takes on all the bills, which forces him to look for savings wherever he can. Zosia slyly persuades Kacper to make them officially a couple.
Ludwik unluckily compliments Natalia's silhouette in a photo from the family album, failing to notice that she's advanced in pregnancy. The kids can't remember their former nanny, Ela.
The boys repeat after their father that women are smarter than men. Kacper is proud of his father in his role as "chicken of the house". Natalia wants to find a new hobby, because work is just nerves.
Kuba and Tomek are spending time with their girlfriends. Kacper is worried that he is still alone. Natalia and Ludwik, to comfort him, tell their son about the advantages of being single. Ludwik's a bit on the fancy side.
Ludwik enrolls Kacper in futsal training and becomes an assistant coach himself. To get a good start in working with young people, he brings an ice cream truck full of ice cream to the first class.
The Boskis' house is in the midst of pre-Christmas mobilization. Children are not entirely happy about this fact. Preparing gifts, hanging Christmas tree lights, the omnipresence of Christmas carols are for them the dark face of Christmas.
It's Halloween on the Boskis' estate. Kuba and Filip dress up to scare the other kids. Kacper and his friend want to get candy. Tomek is browsing the internet for a used car.
Ludwik's cousin, Artur shows up at the Boskis' house. Everyone loves him: he immediately establishes great contacts with the boys, and in minor household tasks he outclasses Ludwik, which wins Natalia's admiration.
Natalia and Ludwik decided it was time to buy Tomek a car to own. Complicated selection criteria result in Tomek becoming the owner of a minivan. Tomek's colleagues are happy because from now on he can transport in large quantities.
Kacper is trying to figure out how to deal with teasing from older classmates at school. Kuba and Piotrek trick Ludwik into going on a camping trip. Ludwig plays with Kuba and Tomek to give "muscle" by pretending to be immune to pain.
Tomek gives Kuba advice on how to spend Valentine's Day romantically with Agata. Ludwik teaches Kacper to play the guitar. Tomek has problems with his car and Kuba decides to sell his snowboard to Kacper so he can buy a new one.
Kacper has an unhappy crush on a certain Adelka. Ludwik and Marek try to advise Kacper, using football metaphors. Kacper listens to them patiently. He prefers to talk to his mom about it, though.
Tomek and his friends are looking for a place to rent. Natalia tries to dissuade Tomek from this idea, but only learns from the other boys how jealous they are of Tomek.
Grandpa Zenon teaches Tomek how to brew beer. Natalia is somewhat disturbed by this penchant for alcohol. Ludwik has a completely different opinion, he considers it an extremely valuable skill.
Kuba pretends in front of his friend that he doesn't care about his split with Agata. He almost fools his buddy into thinking he already has a new crush, then it turns out to be his cousin.
Ludwik buys Kacper a remote-controlled car, but in fact he plays with it all the time himself. Natalia wonders what happened to the orchid whose flower has disappeared. Ludwik advises Tomek and Kuba on how to talk with women.
