Sex & Nudity

  • There is a scene where a large number of model applicants are dressed in bras and panties only. A few of them are seen walking across the room while a handful of designers/ casting directors watch them silently.
  • A young woman is asked to take her dress off for a photoshoot, and a man puts paint on her upper body. The photographer wipes gold paint over her shoulders and neck, and implicitly over her entire body. No nudity (everything is shown from the shoulders up). After the scene, the woman says that the man was fine, implying that nothing further took place.
  • Sparse use of sexual references and language ("what she's wondering is who you're f---ing", "lipsticks are named after food or sex", etc). The first example is about as graphic as the references get, they aren't too bad otherwise.
  • One woman goes to bed with another (although the other does not know the reason) to try to touch her genitals. No nudity but very suggestive.
  • References to "hard candy" and "take a peak in room 214, rented to a runaway girl, 13 years old described as "Lolita" and "has to be seen." Said girl is then later presumably assaulted offscreen (we hear her screams through the wall of Jessie's room).
  • A woman removes the sheet covering a naked corpse. Full frontal female nudity is shown primarily from the side. The women kisses, touches & has manual graphic sex with the adult female's nude dead body. Pubic hair is visible, vulva obscured due to side angle. During this a lengthy scene the woman is fantasizing about another woman, as shown through brief cutaways.
  • A woman is shown gardening topless in a lengthy scene.
  • A woman is shown lying naked on the floor in a moonlit dark room, with her legs spread & the camera angled straight between her legs. Some pubic hair seen, & nude breasts can be made out, but vulva obscured by shadows. Although difficult to see, it appears that she is emitting considerable blood (or other fluid) from below.
  • Two nude women covered in blood shower erotically together while a third nude female watches them from a bathtub. Full frontal female nudity (vulvas obscured) is shown.

Violence & Gore

  • A young woman cuts her hand on glass by accident while talking to someone. They ask to look at the injury, then grab her hand and starts licking the blood. The woman pulls away immediately, clearly creeped out.
  • Two brief shots of attempts to take glass out of a hand. In the first, the injured woman pours rubbing alcohol onto the wound, and cries out in pain. In the next, her friend picks it out. Not at all graphic, but viewers sensitive to blood may feel uncomfortable.
  • A woman hoses down a large pool of blood. It can be uncomfortable to watch.
  • In a dream sequence, a man breaks into a sleeping woman's room and wakes her by placing a knife by her mouth. He then forcefully pushes the knife into her mouth, but she wakes up from the dream before anything else happens.
  • One scene suggests that someone is being attacked in a motel room, although nothing is shown and only faint screams and thudding/ banging are heard from an adjoining room.
  • In the opening scene, a character's throat appears to have been cut, although this is subsequently revealed to be a make-up effect for a photo shoot.

Profanity

  • Sparse strong language. A few uses of "f--k" (twice used to reference sex). One use of "p---y".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Multiple scenes with characters smoking cigarettes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This movie contains surreal/ abstract violence, gore, disturbing imagery, and an overall dark atmosphere.

Violence & Gore

  • A young woman is pushed into a empty swimming pool; you hear a thud. The shot then cuts to her twitching in a puddle of blood.
  • Two women are shown in a shower covered in blood. Across the room, another woman is in a bathtub filled with blood; it's also all over her face. Due to what happened before this scene, the audience knows that it is all someone else's blood.
  • A woman throws up an eyeball. She is shown to be extremely sick and distressed, and ends up cutting her stomach open with scissors in front of another woman. Once she dies, the other woman eats the eyeball and walks away.
  • There's scenes that refer to cannibalism. They don't actually show anyone eating someone. but later on, a girl is shown retching constantly until she pukes up an eyeball and screams she needs to get her out then she stabs herself.
  • When a character dies after being thrown high, he is shown with his legs twisted from the impact. Hard to see.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Implied ritualistic cannibalism towards the end of the film (nothing is shown, but there are clues: three women wash blood off of themselves; one later coughs up blood and an eyeball).
