So this rapist and killer move to another state yet again, to elude once more the police. We all know police departments don't communicate with eachother at that time.

He, somehow, even tho he has a horrible reciding chin, was fat and ugly, because he was charismatic enough to elude what he really was to ignorant people (he knew who he targeted) found a lonely desperate widow. That kind of woman can be found in any time period. XXI century is no exception. They don't care about who they bring home to their children. She didn't care about that he was in jail or what he really did.

So they married, just like that.

He wanted to be the one in control, and I think to compensate his uglyness from inside and out, moeny, power and control was a must, aside from being charismatic to hide his ugly inside and people don't mind the outside.

Many noticed he was a person who has no emotions, like, he didn't love his wife. She noticed a change after 1 or two years after the wedding. He was spending time with the boys he employed at the garage. She doubted about his sexuality, she knew he wasn't "bisexual" but homosexual.
