This excellent short film really deserves more viewers. NeonicMedia has it on YouTube for now, so hopefully more people will be able to see it that way. I'm not sure what other way I could have seen it.
This is a story of a Kurdish boy who has been transplanted to the Netherlands. He's left alone to dwell on his memories of home, which he misses deeply, and his current environment which he resents.
However, he does see something in his new world that attracts his attention. It's a diving platform in the middle of a small lake. How he uses it is frightening, but leads you to hope for his future.
The story itself isn't dependent so much on the nationality of the boy, or his new location. It's a universal sense of isolation and alienation, adventure and making do.
There's poetry, music, great cinematography and acting.
