Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • A house is raided by Indian men; two settlers are killed, and another two girls are captured and dragged to the camp (no blood). The house is burned down, and the girls are crying.
  • A character is burning at the stake and is shot by an American as a "mercy killing."
  • Soldiers attack an Indian camp, men are shot and killed (non-graphic but briefly disturbing possibly). Hand-to-hand combat; people are stabbed as well. Dead bodies shown briefly. The battle lasts around 3 minutes.
  • Girls are horribly mistreated by the Indians in a few scenes, may be disturbing to younger viewers.
  • Men are stabbed by an Indian man, the Indian man is shot twice, however, and dies.
  • A child is hit with a switch multiple times (brief but sad).
  • Kids are held at gunpoint but not shot.
  • A character is injured by a bear who he tries to shoot.
  • During a battle, a man is shot and falls to the ground, but impales an Indian running towards him (non-graphic). They lie next to each other, nearly dead.

  • Gunshots are heard briefly, when in a near-death confrontation with the Indians.

  • Indians are called "savages" several times.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A possible jump scene when a bear is shot but the bear strikes the man on the leg with his claw (a little blood).
  • One intense scene involves a girl escaping a camp but is hit in the head with a tree branch and is knocked down.
  • The cruelty of the Indians directed to young girls may be frightening/disturbing for some viewers.

Violence & Gore

  • The most disturbing scene is when the house is burned down and attacked by the Indians, another mildly disturbing scene is when a central character is killed.
  • A character is mentioned to have been killed in a battle.
  • A character is killed with an axe (it is sudden and very upsetting).
  • Many weapons are brandished frequently throughout the film, which raises the high intensity of it.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The four kids, when escaping, are constantly tracked down by an Indian. This may be very intense and suspenseful.
