This had me captivated.

Madame Marguerite Benham appoints Frannie as her personal secretary, the pair get ever closer, as Marguerite details the story of Laddie, a West Indian boy thay used to live with The Benhams. Marguerite is shocked when she is brought face to face with Laddie in present day.

George Benham truly is a monster, he presents as progressive, sincere and honest, he's a total monster, you can understand why he had his comeuppance, I'm still unsure as to why Marguerite had to die.

We now have a further suspect in the death of The Benhams, Laddie definitely seems to have a strong motive.

I have to be honest, I thought this was quite a captivating watch, I loved it from start to finish, the story is utterly engaging, the acting is terrific, it's a while since I've been so enveloped by a costume drama.

I said in the previous episode that I enjoyed the performance of Karla-Simone Spence, here I thought she was excellent. Jodhi May gets a bit more to do here, I sometimes feel she must live in historical dress.

Captivating.

9/10.
