I hate Naria Girls, and this is coming from someone who doesn't even even care that much about magical girl anime besides Madoka Magica and Toyko Mew Mew. The amount of times I was in pain for this is staggering. I will go through my five viewpoints as to why this is garbage. Starting with the obvious elephant in the room.
1/5 Animation: It is bad. It makes the worst CG shows look like Pixar or Studio Ghibli by comparison. Half of the time, it has some lazy slideshow. Look, I get that anime in general does this too, but those are mostly rare, and they have good animation. Attack on Titan does the slideshow rarely (which is kind of funny how Naria Girls had one of the same animations studios as Attack on Titan, Ponycanyon. That is the only funny thing about the series.) But Naria Girls does this half of the time, and uses it to replace their fight scenes, which are important for mahou shoujo. And the CG instead is terrible. Don't let the cute poster fool you, the animation is not as good as the poster. It is horribly stilted and rushed, and they clip ONTO EACH OTHER several times, not to mention that the models themselves look like the uncanny valley. Not to mention, they transform into the exact same outfits that they have! 0/10 on animation.
But ok, animation is one thing. There are some things that I like that I'll admit, does not have the best animation, or at least not spectacular animation. (Examples are Sonic Boom and Hoodwinked! The first one, not the second one.) I hope there will be more to Naria Girls! *after watching it* Yep. There is none.
2/5 Characters: The characters. I hate all of them. They are so bad that I almost forgot about their names, until I (watched this against my will) saw it, and now I unfortunately, know their names. The blue girl, named Hanabi, is the standard tsundere, except somehow more annoying than the trope itself. The purple girl, named Inaho's entire personality trait is boobies. That is it. And the pink girl, A.k.a. Our main protagonist, Urara, is so selfish and annoying, she makes Sailor Moon (1992 anime version only), look like the best character in comparison. Also, like Lucky Star (which is another anime I absolutely hate), they give the characters one personality trait, and one running gag. 1/10 for characters. The reason why I gave it a one? For punchability factor.
3/5 Story: The story is so bad. It's basically about a magical creature, Animaru, who looks like a mix of Kyubey and a sleep paralysis demon, and the Naria Winter? At this point, I do not care. And the anime does not care either, Because the pacing is completely terrible. If you thought 1992 Sailor Moon was bad and boring, you haven't seen jack! They like to pad this out by talking about...bras. I'm not even kidding. The last episode, which is supposed to be the most emotional episode, is just replaced with bras, and when Hanabi and Inaho die, and Urara becomes wiped from existence because of a wish. They expect you to care for them, but I don't. Because these characters are so unlikable and bland. Also, nice ripping off from Madoka Magica, which is over 1 million times better than you. -10/10 for ripping off something much better than you.
4/5 Voice Acting: The voice acting is so bad, I'd rather be set on fire. And they had really talented voice actresses, yet they sound like they were recorded on smart phones and screamed on the top of their lungs! For a YouTuber, OK, I understand, but this IS A STUDIO! Or better yet, mutliple, who have made good stuff before, so there is no excuse for this! 0/10.
5/5 Conclusion: I HATE IT! It's not even a so bad it's good. Yes, I get this was done to be a parody, but there are several shows that have done this better. Overall, this is a horrible anime and I do not recommend it to anybody. Show this to your greatest enemy, and when you turn it off, they will become your greatest friend. It Is the second worst anime ONLY behind Lucky Star. 1/10.
