The Walking Dead is getting the keys to The Kingdom.
TVLine has learned that AMC has issued a casting call for the recurring role of Augustus, a character who bears a striking resemblance to Ezekiel, who, in Robert Kirkman’s series of graphic novels, is the self-proclaimed king of The Kingdom. A doozy of a character, His Highness is described as flamboyant and wise, nice and weird.

She & Him -- the sunny pop duo consisting of "New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel and indie guitar ace M. Ward -- are ready to tackle the "Classics." The twosome are making their major label debut this fall with a Columbia Records album full of timeless standards, which the press release assures us will be "carefully-selected," and not just randomly chosen. Although no track listing has yet been released, "Classics" will no doubt reflect Deschanel and Ward's eclectic musical taste, which tends to lean heavily on '60 pop. Together, they've previously covered The Beach Boys' "I Can Hear Music"; Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell On You"; Smokey Robinson's "You Really Got a Hold On Me"; The Beatles' "I Should Have Known Better" and Blondie's "Sunday Girl." They also released a Christmas album in 2012. Adding to that old-timey feel, She & Him recorded the new album live in the studio,...

When U.S. lawmakers long ago decided to give authors the opportunity to terminate copyright grants to publishers, could they ever have imagined the novel dispute that is now playing out between legendary R&B singer Smokey Robinson and his ex-wife Claudette? As previously covered, the famous singer-songwriter behind such hits as "My Girl" and "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" sued his former spouse in California federal court, seeking declaratory relief that once he terminated rights to songs, he wouldn't have to share the reclaimed rights with her. The defendant then filed counterclaims, pointing to a 1989

Now, though, America's poet laureate of love is involved in a dispute with his ex-wife Claudette Robinson that could create precedent for those in the music business whose devotion didn't last through the ages. New York -- There are 36 songs in the new Broadway show "Motown: The Musical." Actually, that's just in the first act – 36 songs, not including a reprise of "You're Nobody `til Somebody Loves You." It's like a jukebox went completely haywire.
To be sure, the songs are probably the best America has ever produced: "War," "What's Going On?" "My Girl," "You've Really Got a Hold on Me," "Dancing in the Streets" and "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." But, still, 36? In comparison, "The Book of Mormon" has what now seems like a stingy 16 songs in total.
The 2 1/2-hour show, about Motown Records under founder Berry Gordy, opened Sunday at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre completely unbalanced: The songs are staggering, the book utterly flimsy.
Both are due to one man: Gordy, who clearly knows what makes an indelible hit song, but also has an inability to write objectively about that skill. As the book writer,...

Southfield, Mich. — Bobby Rogers, a founding member of Motown group The Miracles and a songwriting collaborator with Smokey Robinson, died Sunday at his suburban Detroit home. He was 73.

I interrupt American Idol's streak of fabulous female singers for a special bulletin: A young troubadour named Paul Jolley just became the most valuable singer in the competition thanks to his eerie sweetness and topaz complexion. He has a fine voice too, but that's deeply unimportant right now.
Here's what we should be thinking about: His name is Jolley, which is how my loins feel right now. 2) He sang Rascal Flatts, which means AfterElton readership has to rescue this child. 3) He auditioned while dressed in a turquoise shirt and white pants, as if he were Dinah Shore shopping at Pacific Sunwear. He's like Doris Day in those togs. Suzanne Pleshette on vacay. Elizabeth Montgomery eleganza. 4) You can tell by his constant gesturing and fluttery eyelashes that he really loves... God. Yes. He is one of those.
Did I mention that he looks like 22-year-old Anthony Perkins in Friendly Persuasion?...
