On behalf of childless women THANK YOU

Warning: Spoilers
I've loved 'Starstruck from the start. Rose Matafeo is thoroughly charming, I was invested in the main story, and even the more annoying characters had their moments of redemption. One thought kept nagging at me in this third (final?) series though: if Jessie's maternal instincts kick in at the end, thereby making her finally 'worthy' of Tom, I will be sorely disappointed. But after all the babies in that last episode, it wasn't about that, but about friendship, earning trust, being grateful for what you have and being there for people who need you. Nicely done Ms Matafeo.

Also: Team Liam, all the way.

A perfect wrap up - but is it?

Warning: Spoilers
I am completely torn. On the one hand, I would LOVE the show to go on. The humor, the characters, everything - I just want more. On the other hand: Could there be a more perfect episode to wrap up the show than this one?!

The scene in the chapel is what did it for me. Jessie is all over the place most of the time, which makes moments like this one all the more special: a moment of pure, unfiltered honesty and sincerity. Suddenly you realize, behind all of Jessie's chaos and erratic behavior, there is indeed a lot of thought and contemplation. What a bittersweet yet wonderful breakup scene.

Also, kudos to the writers and Lorne MacFadyen for bringing the character of Liam to life. It's hard to compete with a love story the audience has been rooting for since the beginning, but this is almost a master class on how to do it. Such a charming and relatable portrayal. I am sure I am not the only one who switched to team Liam now.

All in all, extremely well done!

Although I hope to see more, I am perfectly fine with this being the end - knowing an amazing show got the finale it deserved.

Fantastic season of a fantastic show

Starstruck's third season continues to explore Jessie and Tom's will-they-won't-they relationship right up until the bitter end. It's emotional, and funny, and poignant, and touching. You would think that the premise would have run its course, but it's surprising how much more interesting stuff there is to mine. Other reviewers have suggested that this might not be the end of the series, but I can't imagine it ending much more perfectly than it does.

All the supporting cast is great, but it can't go unsaid that Rose Matafeo continues to be an absolute delight in this series. I look forward to seeing more of her. I'd even like to see more of Jessie and her friends and what the next stage of life looks like for all of them.

Episode 306

Warning: Spoilers
It could have been worse, I guess that is the positive spin I can put on this.

It was a little bit more restrained than past episodes, and not too crazy, which was a good shift, although the husband constantly wanting to take his shirt off to prepare for skin-on-skin contact with his birthing wife was an odd choice, to say the least.

But the Tom and Jessie dynamic was not as theatrical as it could have been, and I preferred that. They also made it clear that if there is a fourth season it will be more of the same and will they or won't they dynamic. Maybe time to let the show die if that is the case?

I love Rose Matafeo, but it might be time for a new vehicle.
