Not ready for prime time
kymberleigh-7718018 August 2022
Back in the day, this show would be debuting at 9:00 am on a Sunday. I do not know what the programming department is thinking with this one. Just one of the worst new shows on the network.

Plant-based and then some!
emeadows-57 September 2022
I wondered when one of the food channels would come up with a plant-based show. I've followed Tabitha Brown on YouTube and am so happy to see her with her own show on the Food Network. I love seeing the various ways to make the meals...with a twist. Great for vegans, vegetarians and others especially if you're just changing your diet or want an alternative and find the transition a bit difficult. Couple it with Chef Maneet Chauhan's opinions puts it over the top for me. I enjoy the competition's format and the set, and appreciate what I find to be a wonderfully delicious learning experience. Would love to see the recipes posted. Yummy!

Pretty Simple, Really
jamaisj24 August 2022
Yeah, I'm out. From the food perspective, all I'm seeing is people that need therapy more than specialized diets. I'm not sure if those with special needs are just bad actors or people with social issues, but they're coming across more as whiners than people with real needs.

Maneet Chauhan is a great cook, and she tries to justify every cooking decision, but she's not doing it wholeheartedly here. I've seen her on other cooking shows where she has fun and really gets into it; there's a reason she won the Tournament of Champions beyond her incredible cooking skills. Here she's just not into it.

And I hate the cooks. I have no problem if you bring your personal beliefs to cooking; I really do have no problem with gluten-free sugar-free cooking. But these cooks feel more like they are trying to proselytize for their beliefs, and it comes off as more of a platform for pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo that you'd find at a co-op mixer than professional chefs.

But the host is the worst. Tabitha Brown just acts more like that Southern plantation host that no one wants, and she feels like she thinks she's better than everyone at the party. She has to have the last word and comments on everything, and it just comes off as fake. She's the bitter drunk you expect at every party.

So I'm out. This could have been a good show, but this is just horrible.

Warning: Spoilers
Not only does Tabitha Brown's show feature all plant-based meals, she even makes the competition light-hearted with all the contestants coming back out at the end to celebrate with the winner! I'm looking forward to watching more. 🌱

Boring
Sorry Tab. Compliplated is boring. Only watched A few minutes then had to tap out. The show is uninspired and doesn't bring much newness to the reality cooking competition shows.

A Vegan Cooking Show, Yay!
hippiechik62-118 August 2022
It's so nice to watch chefs make plant based meals that are complicated and plated beautifully. It would be cool if they posted the recipes. Thank you Food Network for seeing us veggies.

Truly Healthy Competition
juanwitcrst11 September 2022
I absolutely love the show! Tabitha Brown brings this sweet southern sensibility as a host with good insight on healthy eating. I love the concept of chefs competing to create healthy dishes for the complex healthy eater. I love the concept of the judges panel bringing interesting complexity to each challenge. This is a culinary competition for the vegan connoisseur which can inspire those who are not vegan to give it a try. Very fresh, very smart, and very competitive.

Maneet Chauhan is the perfect expert judge. She's a judge that knows and understands ingredients and how they work to make a dish into a masterpiece. I love the on screen chemistry with Tabitha that brings this spice and warmth to the show. The shall definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat as these chefs work to make these complicated dishes. I totally binge-watched the show, can't wait to the next episode.

A breath of fresh air!

This show is *exactly* what real-life cooking in my family is like (of course, this has some added competition show elements). The food looks delicious; I don't normally take notes watching cooking shows (for me they're usually background entertainment), but I've gotten so many ideas from this that I started a notebook. I also love that the atmosphere is comfortable and supportive, unlike other FN shows. There's still competition, but the chefs are especially creative and seem genuinely happy to please their guests; plus, there's a little celebration at the end. The new daytime slot is quite unfortunate, but I'll schedule my work lunch breaks around it until this goes back to primetime. Plant-based cooking and dietary restrictions don't have to be complicated- and in fact aren't - it's 2022! THANK YOU Food Network, and Tabitha Brown, and please add more shows like this.

Healthy Meals and No Animal Cruelty...I'm Loving It!
veganforlife-0544430 September 2022
I LOVE this show! It's nice to see a cooking show with friendly competition. Heck, sometimes the other contestants will even help their fellow competitors when they are struggling and must finish on time. This is a fun and happy show where contestants are not verbally abused, Gordon Ramsey style. We live in a sad world when people find that entertaining. I love Tabitha Brown's energy and cheerfulness. I agree with another reviewer who commented that they would love to see the recipes posted. In a world where the SAD diet (Standard American Diet) is causing so much harm to people's bodies, it's nice to see a show with healthy meals! I hope more Networks start producing vegan cooking shows! Veganism - is good for the body, the animals, and the environment!

I love the NEW concept of a cooking show
feliciasdesignsonline24 August 2022
This show brings a new flavor to cooking shows.

A Dinner Party with picky eaters is a great idea.

I am excited to see the challenges each week - especially since the dishes have to be Vegan on top of whatever else the guest don't like - I like seeing the chefs come up with the plates.
