A vampire, a ghost and a werewolfÂ… visit Barry Island
Tweekums13 February 2012
Warning: Spoilers
After the shock death of George I wasn't sure if the series was on its way out; after all, to paraphrase Lady Bracknell, to lose one main character is unfortunate but to lose two seems like carelessness. Thankfully we still have Annie, the third of the original characters, and she has been joined by werewolf Tom so just needs a vampire for the show to return to its original premise. Last week we were introduced to another vampire/ghost/werewolf household and this week the visit Barry after an 'angel' in the radio tells the dying Leo that they must go there to see the baby Eve. Once there the vampire Hal isn't exactly welcomed by Tom and the ghost Pearl isn't too keen on Annie. This situation isn't helped when they have no idea how Eve can help Leo.

This episode had far less action than the series opener and what action there was took place off camera; yet despite that I preferred it. The group from Southend were interesting and their story was surprisingly poignant given how long they have featured. Having a vampire how appears to be obsessive compulsive was interesting and quite a contrast to Mitchell; I think Hal could make a good addition to the show. The acting was decent; I especially liked the performance of Louis Mahoney as the elderly werewolf Leo. Now that we know who the main characters will be from now on I look forward to seeing how this series progresses.

Vast improvement over episode 1

Warning: Spoilers
Phew, after the poor start to the series last episode I was worried it was going to continue in that vain !.

Spoiler ahead More involvement with the new characters building up to the climax of their departure leaving us with Hal taking over Mitchells role.

With the build up to imply of Hal having a dark and sinister past (dont nearly all Vampires !).

Much better lets hope it improves further.

Still not convinced on the Terminator like plot line but we shall see if thing improve over time
