Binged All Six Episodes In One Afternoon
pereece2 May 2023
This is hands down the best WWII documentary series I've ever seen. Episode one doesn't start at the beginning of the war with episode six being the end of the war. The episodes are compartmentalized - Military Blunders, Wonder Weapons, Allies, Drugs, Inner Circle and Ideology. This documentary series dispels any delusion about Hitler being a genius. The allies canceled an operation too assassinate him. They were afraid the Germans would replace him with someone competent. Each episode of the series starts at the beginning of the war and follows the episodes theme to the end of the war. The series is available for free on freeeve and tubi.

Possibly the worst example of this genre. Period.

There have been many attempts at exploring the dreadful chain of events that lead up to ww2 and it's conclusion. It's not inappropriate, therefore, to look at how the nazis lost, especially given the immense position of power they had built up between the wars.

Where this goes completely wrong is to do this from a heavily biased position. In short, from this account there was little or nothing the nazis did right, intelligently, etc.. At any point.

No one in their right mind would support many of the motives or the abhorrent strategies employed by the nazis, but it is an over-simplification, and an insult to viewers, to suggest virtually everything they did was flawed or 'doomed to fail'.

We need an intelligent exploration, not this tripe.
