Great Ideas to Cut Costs and Help the Environment
brenda-6328025 January 2024
Alex and Deek are funny and entertaining! There is a good flow to the film. They made a great living space out of a second hand truck and repurposed materials. This is so much more affordable than buying new things. In a time when we are in a climate crisis, everyone needs to scale down their living spaces and the new resources they use. Using second hand items whenever possible is so necessary. This film showcases so many great ideas of how to reuse things and turn them into something wonderful! The finished tiny home looks very nice and is also very functional, with a lot of storage areas. There are also helpful tips from experts throughout the film. If you are thinking of converting a space into a tiny home, this is the best film to watch!

Fun and inspirational renovation story
anitacoco29 January 2024
I loved this documentary! How fascinating to see the transformation of a plain white box truck into a charming, one-of-a-kind tiny home. Alex and Deek are likable guides who take us on a journey of reuse and repurpose that is both inspiring and practical. We get to see every detail of how the truck gets doors, windows, storage, bathroom, kitchen, bed and personality, all from mostly reclaimed materials that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. In addition to the excitement of the renovation, we also get a window into the friendship between Alex and Deek that is heartwarming and seemingly tension-free. These guys are to be commended for their courage in taking on a project like this and showing the world that it can be done. Kudos Alex and Deek - you did it! Watch it - you won't be disappointed!

Captivating, informative, and inspirational film

Alex and Deek do an amazing job showcasing the abundance of creative and useful ways to repurpose materials that is sure to inspire viewers to do the same. The storyline was captivating and the characters so entertaining, well-versed, and devoted to the project. Having had a tour of the truck just last week, I was amazed then but even more so after watching the film and seeing the amount of time, effort, energy, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, and initiative that went into making this moving home and learning center. It certainly has inspired me to rethink my living and working spaces and to seek out ways to use more repurposed materials.

Spread the word - tell your friends!
robyntheriveter10 September 2024
The Box Truck Film is a prime example of how single use and fast fashion culture has infiltrated our minds. Convenience = disregard. There are so many opportunities to reuse in our daily lives, and creating a mobile home like Alex and Derek did is just one of those ways that can make a lasting, educated impression. It's important we spread awareness of the toxicity behind disposable culture and how our singular and collective impact can transform the future. If we share this film with our friends, and keep the conversation going - we can take accountability for our impact in the landfills. So many rad things can be salvaged and made into beauty if we just take a second to think. Great job!

A film that reminds and motivates you to do the impossible in a world that needs it more than ever.

Low budget, and high value. The subject is good the angle perfect.

Yes I reused my text, cause it's better to reuse than produce bad things just to have more.

Fun, impactful, sustainable education!

I highly recommend the documentary. The film follows Alex Eaves and Derek Diedricksen as they convert a tiny home using reusable and upcycled materials for sustainable living. The documentary also addresses environmental, economic, and social education. While watching the film, it changed my perspective on how I can better contribute to the world by actively participating and acquiring the knowledge and skills to be more responsible and restore the environmental balance. The film is both fun and lighthearted, and it made me realize how much I prefer to live a more meaningful and conscious lifestyle at a slower pace. Well done, Alex and Derek!

THOW
justine-138517 September 2024
In the 'community' we call these THOW(s) ~ Tiny House on Wheels. It's a lifestyle for most, but for Alex, Deek and the Box Truck it's a passion. A combined passion of creating something with virtually no carbon footprint, living a simple life with only the things you need and documenting it to show others we don't all have to live in the box society expects us to be in. I may be slightly biased saying how much I love this film because I'm in it, but I'm passionate about it as well. If you're considering living tiny or want to live sustainably this film will show you how easy it really is. If you're just curious you'll enjoy it as well.
