A thought provoking film with commendable performances by all the role players. Splendid visuals backed by a sensitive storyline. Purely a content driven film. The bonding between an elderly man from the traditional Joint Family Structure and a kid living with his Single Mother creates a narrative which delves deep into a question as to whether the disintegration of the Joint Family Structure into Nuclear Families and further into Single Parenting has made us more independent and progressive or has it drifted us away from our roots. National Award winning actors Victor Banerjee and Rituparna Sengupta teams up with Anuradha Roy, Angana Bose, Sudeshna Chakraborty, Supratim Roy, Jayashree Adhikary, Abhishek Ganguli, Anindo Sarkar, Master Ankan Mallick and Master Swapnadip Adhikary being the perfect interpreters. AKORIK is an effort to address a social global issue with absolute honesty.
