Apocalypse Unknown

The cinematography of this film is solid! All things technical about this film is great and the overall production is quality. Tristan Winchester shows his creativity and capabilities behind the camera. Absolutely loved the use of drone shots, may be his signature shot haha.

The story is kind of obscure but it presents an interesting concept. It doesn't have any dialogue, which though can work with some stories, with this film it makes the story at times confusing and hard to follow. I left feeling the characters lacked motive and it made it hard for me to connect to the story.

Though I failed to connect with the main character, Gavin Winchester brings a very satisfying performance to the screen as the lone survivor. You can tell the Winchester brothers are passionate about their work and I'm excited to see what's to come from these two.

The cinematography was absolutely amazing! Acting was good! Soundtrack was great!!

The ending was satisfying, I loved all the drone shots, especially the ending one, I definitely wish there was more action

It did start a little slow. It was super quiet in the beginning, for some people, they might not finish the film because Of how slow the beginning is, they should have sped it up a bit. Beginning is a bit confusing but the second and third act of "Apocalypse Unknown" was perfect!

Directing was also really good, the film was definitely pretty gory. I think it was super cool. But I think the film struggled with its theme and the genre or type of film it's trying to be, it feels like a Horror sometimes, a thriller for a couple of scenes and mainly action, but not much action. Drama was there. It didn't seem like there was a type of style or genre they were aiming for. There were a couple (3-6) of moments that could have been jumpscares, but the way they choose to edit that and film it, made it expected. When the Lone Survivor l was taken, that could have been a jump scare.

The beginning was confusing and didn't make sense, cause the main protagonist never talked, it was hard to know What he was thinking or what he knew, on day 1 it didn't seem like he knew that there was an apocalypse, he looked like he was searching for people but I feel like he would have been talking a little or trying harder to find out what happened, then suddenly he is camping. Why though? If everyone is gone, if he isn't in danger, why would he camp outside. He was taken, that was the characters fault. Then when he meets the other 'survivor' when he was first taken and seen, the main character should have said something, because he doesn't know he has to be quiet, he thinks that the guy is bad, even when he told him to be quiet, it wasn't super clear, There was many times throughout the film where the bad guys chose to not kill the main character, they killed the other survivor without hesitation and then just let the main guy just walk away, they shot him yes. But why did they even let him walk away, then he was shot and went to the floor, the bad guys walked away, which didn't make sense, what's the importance of him?

Amazing!!

Warning: Spoilers
I gotta say good job guys you and the fam did something amazing here, and yall just gonna keep growing from here!

I loved the movied. It had a good amount of action, a bit of gore, and alot of good potential jump scares!

But here we are with the criticism baby!

I personally know a few thing about zombies played alot of zombie games and watched.

I will start with the zombie scene the girl in the car.

That scene had alot of potential in it.

When the protagonist walk by the car that had the zombie she didn't wake up or anything it's not till later the zombie attacks him.

I personally feel like these are zombie 101 rules.

Zombies most of the time have really good since of smell or hearing. And some movies and games and books give them the vampire perk, basically they wake up doing a specific time sunset or a specific weather like warm weather. All of those those could have been used huge time.

To me I didn't feel zombie enough that she woke up when he was long gone and she knew exactly where he was.

Using the sence of smell or hearing could have been used when he walked by the zombie she could have shown face expression of sniffing cause he had a bleeding leg zombies are always good at picking of the smell of live human blood So I feel like that could have been used to show that he was in more danger. Or the sence of hearing when he was walking by she hears his footsteps and that makes her wake up like a body twitch or eyes suddenly opening.

We're going to skip a little bit when he was attacked by here they could have made her a bit more feisty like a wild dog trying to get a good bite out of him.

When he killed her personally I feel more gore could have been added to that scene I know that takes alot of makeup and props but, when he killed her the body or the head that he smashed in with the rock wasn't showned at all.

Knowing it takes alof money and makeup to show the after effect of a smashed in face you could have have still make it gory by showing the body up to the neck and blood all over the floor to show the viewer that yes it is dead.

Now to the action I love the action scene the kidnapping scene was almost perfect I feel like one or two things was off everything eles was gold. The kidnapper didn't tie his leg and the chair was moving around to me it looks like an easy escape and these guys are supposed to be suvivor murderes. They could be a bit more cruel and cautious.

The scene in the woods when the guy grabed the protagonist by the neck while he was running. When he ended up getting shot that was a good scene to show how cruel their group is.

But when the guy got shot in the head there was no sign of wounds which the viewers will pick up on very fast.

When he was shot the camara was facing him so that would be a good cut scene to add some makeup on his forehead, to make it look like a bullet Penetration.

On the topic of bullet penetration. When the protagonist got shot in the leg there was no rip in his pants leg but he showed a bullet wound which was good but that leaves me wondering how he got damaged but can't see the bullet hole in his pants.

In the sence when the protagonist was getting up after falling unconscious, he stood up but the foot he put down first was the wounded leg to stand up it's a bit picky but alot of people will find that off that he would use the hurt leg to put pressure on first to stand up.

Now the last scene. Again they caught the protagonist. These guys are supposed to be murderes more violent. Especially he had killed some of their men... They let him on the floor not beaten enough with a gun laying next to him jot even tied up.

As a protagonist I feel like you have to make the viewers fear for him more put him in more unfavorable situations.

And when the gun fight started blazing the protagonist got too much scrip power he was shooting these good suvivor murderes like they were nothing and whe he got shot the protagonist was running around like he didn't have a hurt leg or got shot. So more reactions and carefulness to damage that has been done.

That's about all I can think of!!!

I loved the movie I want to see yall just keep going up from here amazing job Winchesters!!!
