Warning: Spoilers
Here is some Good News and some bad news.

The good news is George Carbtree's two aunts have just been exposed of their true intentions and now with that problem resolved, (kind of) he and Effie are now happily married in peace.

The bad news is the strange case of the supposed death of Violet Harts father still remains unsolved, and not only that but I think it looks like that might be the very last time we will ever see Detective Watts in the show overall at least for now.

Also I think (Roger Cross) the actor who played Maurice Majors, did a really good job with his performance, It kind of gives me a Tim Curry vibe in my opinion.

It was the best of times; it was the worst of times

In the plus column for this two-parter, gay rights and domestic abuse were pretty well addressed in those subplots, though the resolutions in both may have relied too heavily on coincidence. And parenthood has thus far added some charm to the Murdoch household without undermining what made William and Julia such a joy to follow these many years.

But the snarl of plot threads surrounding Violet Hart and her loathsome pappy loom within jumping distance of the proverbial shark. I've enjoyed Roger Cross before (notably in Syfy's Dark Matter, which sadly fell victim to the non-renewal axe before its time), and surely will again. But not here, where his character's nature and arc are a blight on this fictional landscape.

So, to the writers: More focus on cases, with the reliably delightful sprinkling of historical figures dropping by, please.

Not focusing on a case is a weakness of the last four episodes of the series

Warning: Spoilers
The numerous stories in the beginning, the half-finished zombie killer case, the addition of a not so attractive character named Violet Hart's father and her unlovable son-in-law have been among the dislike points of the beginning of season 16 of this series. I have always liked episodes of this series where a mystery is solved and all the characters focus on solving that mystery. This episode could have only shown the story of Crabtree's marriage and his aunts and the case of the badger killer and reduced the side stories because it would completely confuse the audience. These comments are from a regular viewer of this program and I wish the program would follow a story similar to the fifth to the twelfth seasons.

The characters of the forensic doctor and her husband Arthur and now her father have not yet become a lovable character, which made the forensic sequences in the previous seasons one of the favorites of the series. I hope that in the future episodes, the characters will focus on solving a case and we will only see a fun side story next to it, not like this two-part series with thousands of stories and confusing us.
