Simon Reeve's travelogues have become a BBC mainstay over the past decade, and there's much to recommend them: Reeve's enthusiasm, empathy and environmentalism make for a winning formula. While his programmes may not be explicitly political, they make you think as well as gasp at the natural beauty of many of the places he visits. His latest series, travelling down the Americas, was disrupted by COVID-19; but his eventual exploration of South America is among his best, as he drops in of places of wonder and concern. I'm not normally a huge fan of this type of series, but I'd recommend this one without hesitation.
