A slick multi-layered period piece of semi-debauchery

I'm not sure what's driving all the low ratings of this very well-crafted period drama. I don't want to give away plot details, so I'll comment on the Director's approach. The story line is somewhat convoluted and one needs to pay close attention to the setup and relationships between the characters. There's lots of strange tension about with plenty of unanswered questions and subplots and other goings-on that makes one wonder about plot structure. I found this charmingly mysterious -- the vagueness seemed to be necessary to build up to the short's conclusion. Perhaps a bit overwrought, Glasses had very high production values, excellent editing and sound; I thought the acting seemed appropriate and professional.

beautiful

A well crafted period drama. Subtle, complex, good performances, silk plot. About meetings and love and traitors and games. Scene by scene - a real gem. For atmosphere and for the beautiful nuances defining it. Short, a profound bitter - beautiful drama. With cinammon flavors.

Vague and convoluted

The story is unclear and vague . There's no character growth or development.

Production is good and it looks nice.

Could have been promising

This short film is about the relationships between three man and a woman who is the wife of one of the men.

"A Thousand Empty Glasses" has a convoluted plot, and frankly I don't understand it at all. There is sexual tension between two men on the screen, but I think it's not developed enough to be engaging. The rest of the plot I just didn't understand a thing.

As for the production, I think the film is well made. I was impressed by the sets. I also was impressed by the portraits of one of the characters. However, the delivery of the plot fails. It is a pity, as I can see that the film could have been promising.
