Fun Look Back with McCartney

Behind the Curtain: Memories of Red Square (2005)

*** (out of 4)

This six-minute featurette is a bonus on the PAUL MCCARTNEY IN RED SQUARE DVD. What we basically get is McCartney talking about his history with Russia, which pretty much started when The Beatles were banned and they never got to perform there until 2003 when he brought his World Tour there. Needless to say, at just six minutes there's really nothing ground-breaking here but I think fans of the singer should enjoy hearing his thoughts going into the concert and then after wards. It seems some of this stuff was probably outtakes from the film because most of it is from the same stuff like him riding his bicycle around Red Square. McCartney, always saying the right thing, talks about what the people are Russia are probably like and why he wanted to play there so badly. Again, not a masterpiece but it's fun.
